Business Risk Intelligence (BRI) vendor Flashpoint has signed a new partnership with emt Distribution. The deal is aimed at extending Flashpoint’s growth in the Asia Pacific region. It means that emt Distribution will now offer Flashpoint through its different channel networks in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Philippines, UAE and South Africa.

The deal is not expected to impact Flashpoint’s existing channel partners in OCEANIA and Southeast Asia. Instead, the company believes it will provide them with additional sales and marketing support in addition to technical support.

According to Brian Costello, SVP Global Sales & Solutions Architecture, Flashpoint: “emt Distribution has long been at the leading edge of providing cyber security solutions to Australia’s private and public sector. Flashpoint is excited and optimistic about this new partnership and helping emt further grow its portfolio to address the growing threat of illicit threat actor communities online.”

Enterprise Times: What does this mean

This is a good deal for Flashpoint. It will see this as a fast track to extend its growth in Australia through emt Distribution’s network. The region is dealing with increased cyber security threats from state sponsored actors in China and North Korea. This has led to something of a mini gold rush for cyber security organisations.

There is also a lot of attention on the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Based on previous games in the region, attackers will already be planning their infiltration of sporting associations and businesses ahead of the games. One of the biggest threats is supply chain attack. Flashpoint’s BRI solution will provide organisations with intelligence required to deal with threats as they emerge.
