Acquisitions and Funding

Access Legal, part of The Access Group, has acquired an integrated cloud IT services provider, Oosha. It also completed the acquisition of Select Legal, a specialist provider of legal software to UK law firms.

Cleo Communications (“Cleo” or the “Company”), a global provider of ecosystem integration software solutions, has received a significant investment from an affiliate of H.I.G. Capital (“H.I.G.”), a leading global alternative investment firm with $44 billion of equity capital under management. Terms were not disclosed.

IFS completed its acquisition of Service Management provider Axios.

JCurve Solutions has acquired Creative Quest, a full-service digital marketing agency in the Philippines.

Visma has acquired Kontek, a Swedish company that specialises in cloud-based solutions and services covering the entire payroll process.

Ceridian has appointed Bill McDonald as Executive Vice President and General Counsel effective July 1, 2021.

Conga appointed Eric Salava as Chief Revenue Officer and promoted Koti Reddy to Chief Technology Officer.

It will provide marketers with a single, comprehensive view of all projects in production, in flight, and in market.

Asana unveiled updates to its platform. They include enabling people to reduce meetings with Video Messaging powered by Vimeo. They can prioritize their work with intelligent My Tasks. Create time for focus with Clockwise’s smart calendar assistant, and quiet notifications with the Asana desktop app.

BigTime Software announced its June release. The update includes minor updates to the core PSA solution, reporting, and an enhanced HubSpot integration.

BlueConic launched an online tool that provides a ‘readiness score’ based on data confidence, access, and utility, along with detailed steps for how companies can prepare to move away from third-party data.

Domo rolled out its new Domo Everywhere offering that updates components of its existing embedded analytics solutions and makes available new capabilities to deliver a more powerful experience for organizations to improve customer experiences and create new revenue streams leveraging Domo’s powerful platform. Domo Business Cloud also now supports Snowpark, the new developer experience for Snowflake, the Data Cloud Company.

Esker has added new functionality within its Procure-to-Pay solution to fight against bank transfer fraud, integrating the French Lyon-based FinTech Sis ID technologies.

Informatica announced tighter integrations with its Intelligent Data Management Cloud and Snowflake, the Data Cloud Company, to advance ELT capabilities and offer native support for Snowflake’s Java User Defined Functions (UDF) to enterprise customers.

IRIS unveiled its Accountancy Suite Spring 2021 release. It includes enhancements to:

  • streamline and reduce errors in business tax submissions
  • simplify tax reporting for support loans and grants

MineralTree announced the addition of new integrated analytics and interactive visualization tool to its software platform. The offering unlocks valuable insights into AP workflows, payments optimization, cash flow, and security.

Phenom launched Phenom Mentoring — a new Employee Experience product that leverages artificial intelligence (AI) and automation to connect employees and experienced leaders seeking a mentor-mentee relationship.

Planful launched “Predict: Signals,” the first of a range of product releases in the Planful Predict portfolio, a suite of native artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) products that will be released in 2021 and beyond.

Procore announced enhancements to its Preconstruction solutions at its annual summit. Based on the solution it acquired from Esticom in October 2020, it includes estimating and takeoff functionality.

Qualtrics revealed four new solutions to help B2B and B2C organizations accelerate innovation across their digital channels. The solutions are Web UX Optimization, In-App Experience Optimization, E-Commerce Experience Optimization and Digital Journey Optimization.

Ramco Systems launched Self Explaining Payslip, a smart, AI-based service that lets employees seek explanations of their compensation and payslip component.

A new version of REaD Group self-service data management platform REaD Online is now available.

Salesforce announced Corporate and Investment Banking for Financial Services Cloud, new technology to help bankers and deal teams deepen relationships with clients, manage deal interactions on one platform and compliantly collaborate and share sensitive information relevant to a deal.

Syncari added powerful workflow automation capabilities to its all-in-one solution for marketing, sales, and revenue teams.

ThoughtSpot, the Modern Analytics Cloud company, announced support for Snowpark, the new developer experience for Snowflake, the Data Cloud Company.

Tipalti announced Tipalti multi-entity with capabilities that will make it easier for companies with global subsidiaries to seamlessly and securely manage their accounts payable data and processes at the entity level while also simplifying foreign exchange and currency management requirements.

Workday announced plans to deliver Workday Payroll for Australia and Workday Payroll for Germany. Early adopters of Workday Payroll for Australia and Germany are expected to begin deployments in the calendar year 2023.

Research

Pipedrive revealed new data suggesting that lead generation and management automation tools secure up to 4x more qualified leads and increase deal close rates by +25%. The findings come from the recently released Global State of Sales survey of more than 1,700 sales professionals. It also showed that the pandemic made prospecting harder. About half of respondents (45%) regularly or usually struggle to find enough sales leads.

Workday released the initial findings of its European Survey, “The Employee Outlook: Understanding Employee Sentiment and Priorities Across Europe”, that reveals European workers are worried about the impact the pandemic is having on their careers. Key highlights of the survey include:

  • Employees remain positive about leadership through uncertain times. Leaders in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and the UK viewed most favourably by employees
  • 44% in the UK, Spain, and Italy report they have missed opportunities to gain new responsibilities and skills
  • 26% of employees believe they have lost opportunities to develop their career
  • 47% of 18-34 year-olds are concerned about the impact the pandemic has had on their workplace opportunities

Xero released findings from a new survey uncovering some of the unwelcome consequences of running a small business, with the majority of small business leaders (81%) saying it’s taking away from their personal lives. Small business leaders are:

  • Under-romanced, 39% of singles are unable to remember the last time they went on a date
  • Under-holidayed, 53% of respondents sacrificing a family holiday for their business
  • Under-rested, small business leaders are collectively missing out on more than eight million hours of sleep each week.
