Last week Enterprise Times spoke to Matt Muldoon, Chief Product officer of KeyedIn, to talk about the latest release of its PPM software, KeyedIn Enterprise 7.5. Enterprise Times also highlighted HR vendor Cornerstone’s success with Kantata PSA since dropping OpenAir in 2014. It increased utilisation by 4% and forecasting accuracy by as much as 20%.
With the summer coming to an end, there are likely far more announcements emerging in the coming weeks as people return from annual leave.
Avaza
In the only other piece of news noted, though there is some coverage in the Research round-up from other vendors, Avaza introduced Avaza Invoice Auto Reminders. Users are now able to set up five reminders for late payments of invoices. They can determine how many days after the due date is missed that the payment is sent.
They can set up the time of day to send the invoice. Though it isn’t clear whether this adjusts to the recipient’s time zone. Usefully they have also allowed the administrator to set a return address and attach a PDF of the invoice to the reminder. The system also enables the administrator to send a reminder before the invoice fall due. This preemptive reminder is a nice way to ensure payments are made on time. Each of the five reminders can also have its email template. They can draw data from Avaza with a mail merge-type functionality.
The reminder is sent to the person that the administrator defined in the customer contact field of the invoice. One assumes that this defaults to the client record. Once activated, invoice reminders are sent automatically. A log is created for users to review when and to whom the reminders were sent.
The intent is to automate the timely and often costly processes of chasing late payments. What would be interesting would be some research to see how effective the reminders are in obtaining the cash. For some organisations, late payments are a major issue. Understanding that this new feature has a positive impact would be useful to know.
