The ManageEngine IT asset management module has earned the PinkVERIFY 2011 certification. Pink Verify is an assessment and certification standard delivered by PinkElephant. It enables companies to confirm that a solution is aligned with ITIL v3 standards. This is the third such certification that ManageEngine has achieved from PinkVERIFY. The others are request fulfillment, incident and change management. The standard measured the solution against 45 criteria over three areas: general platform, core and integration. ManageEngine achieved a 100% pass during a live demonstration.

Rajesh Ganesan, vice president at ManageEngine commented: “Service desk teams are often forced to invest in a separate ITAM solution for lack of proper ITAM capabilities in their service desk solutions. ManageEngine understands this and has built a practical, comprehensive ITAM solution within ServiceDesk Plus. The PinkVERIFY 2011 certification validates our abilities and gives our customers the confidence that they’ve made a safe choice.”

Enterprise Times: What does this mean

ManageEngine are not alone in completing this certification. In total Pink Elephant lists 70 vendors that have each achieved up to 16 certifications. They include some major companies amongst them ServiceNow, SAP, Oracle, Ivanti, CA Technologies, bmc and MicroFocus. However, some of the records appear out of date as the LANDESK entry has not been updated to reflect the Ivanti ownership.

David Ratcliffe, president at Pink Elephant, commented: “Congratulations to ManageEngine and the ServiceDesk Plus team for achieving PinkVERIFY status in the areas of Asset Management, Incident Management, Change Management and Request Fulfillment! ServiceDesk Plus 10.0 is now prominently included as an ITIL compatible tool on the PinkVERIFY website. Once again, it’s clear that ManageEngine recognizes PinkVERIFY certified functionality is important to the software customer community. Their customers now can have confidence that ServiceDesk Plus 10.0 meets industry best practices in all four process areas.”

Will ManageeEngine add more certifications? In comparison, some of its competitors have more. What it does show is that the ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus solution attains a certain benchmark that prospects can be assured by.
