GoTo has announced the appointment of Tony Haller as its new Global Head of IT Partner Sales for its unified communications platform. He will initially focus on growing the partner performance around the GoTo IT support and management products such as GoTo Resolve and Rescue. The role appears new, though Brian McCarthy, who was Senior Director, Strategic Partnerships at GoTo, is leaving and looking for a new position.
Haller joins from LastPass, where he spent nearly three years joining it as Senior Strategic Partner Manager. He previously held sales management and sales roles at Continuum and IT Mindshare and spent ten years at US Cellular.
Haller commented on LinkedIn, “I am extremely excited to announce that I have taken on a new opportunity to help build out an amazing program for our MSP partners!”
He joins at a time of leadership changes at GoTo with the recent appointment of Rich Veldran as Chief Executive Officer, following the decision by Paddy Srinivasan to step down from the role after a decade at the helm. Veldran was previously the CFO.
Doubling down on the partner ecosystem
The investment in leadership is parallel with a commitment to invest in the GoTo Partner Network. That investment, GoTo says will also include new hires. The firm currently has 31 open positions, though none appear to be directly related to building its partner organisation.
Haller will leverage his experience to build the GoTo partner community worldwide with a focus on MSPs and strategic partners. The firm has recently revamped its Partner Benefits Program.
It now supports seven different types of partners:
- Agent Partners
- Full-Service Provider Partners
- Technology Partners
- Resellers
- Referral partners
- Global Service Integrators
- Managed Service Providers
Enterprise Times: What does this mean
It is a new era for GoTo as it looks to invest in and expand its partner program. The appointment of Haller at the start of the year and a bullish announcement that does not set any metrics for success. It is difficult to say how many channel partners GoTo already has, as its channel directory contact list all seem to have GoTo email addresses and seem to be the partner contacts rather than the partners themselves.
