Automation Anywhere has deepened its relationship with Amazon and Google and launched new AI-powered solutions on the Automation Success Platform. The new solutions, with more to come, leverage generative AI from Google’s Large Language Models and Vertex AI. Automation Anywhere is also leveraging Amazon SageMaker JumpStart and Amazon Bedrock. The new solutions put new AI-powered tools and generative AI capabilities into the hands of customers’ employees, and stakeholders.
Mihir Shukla, CEO and Co-Founder, Automation Anywhere, commented. “Every company is in the midst of a productivity crisis. However, the combination of generative AI and automation has given us the power to unlock this next wave of productivity, completely transforming the way we work. The Automation Success Platform provides new and creative solution for everyday business challenges beyond chat. It’s about doing – from quickly responding to emails to generating new automations on-demand.”
Automation Anywhere is introducing generative AI capabilities across the Automation Success Platform. The new solutions, some of which are available now, are the first iterations of this technology. It will enable customers to drive greater productivity from its teams and improve the ROI of the Automation Anywhere platform.
Initially, the company announced three new solutions:
Automation Co-Pilot + Generative AI for Business Users
Available now, this is an update for the Automation Co-Pilot AARI that was launched in October 2022. It has now added generative AI capabilities to the automation assistants that firms can embed in any application. Powered by GPT, this new generation of bots will accelerate productivity. Reducing the burden on employees by helping to generate responses from knowledge bases that can be checked and used in emails or to provide recommendations. Powered by AI, it puts greater knowledge at users’ fingertips, helping solve problems for customers and training them on the job.
Luciano de Carvalho, Automation Executive Manager at ITAU Bank, the largest bank in Brazil and LATAM, sees the benefits of this latest generation. He commented, “We already have deployed thousands of Automation Anywhere cloud native bots running on AWS. We are very excited that AWS and Automation Anywhere are working together to combine Generative AI with Intelligent Automation.”
Automation Co-Pilot + Generative AI for Automators
Available in July, this leverages the code-building aspect of generative AI. Co-Pilot is now embedded in the developer experience. It enables citizen coders to professional developers to quickly generate code to speed the development lifecycle by writing code based on a conversation within Co-Pilot. With Salesforce recently revealing that generative AI has increased the productivity of its R&D teams by up to 50%. If Automation Anywhere users expect similar benefits, there could be huge cost savings and changes possible within limited timescales. Interested parties can sign up for this application now.
Document Automation + Generative AI
Available in Q3 2023, this application will use generative AI to analyse, extract and summarise key data from unstructured documents. Automation Anywhere is looking to build the application to understand a growing number of unstructured documents, without revealing exactly what document types will be supported and whether customers can add to that list themselves. The key is that with the analysis and data capture, companies can extract data to populate data fields within workflows to automate processes faster.
Automation Anywhere sees four benefits of deploying this technology:
- Empower business teams to quickly extract data, summarize documents, and eliminate hours of data entry
- Improve data quality by eliminating human error and validating data before it enters your business-critical systems
- Meet regulatory compliance and standards by protecting data and ensuring automated processes adhere to regulatory requirements
- Lower the cost of ownership by reducing the time to configure document extraction projects and get started instantly with pre-built document models
Having the scary bit covered
Automation Anywhere has already built in the guard rails, data protection, security and compliance requirements into its AI and generative AI capabilities. Generative AI is exciting, though companies must ensure that their solutions do not cross an ethical or compliance line. With Automation Anywhere ensuring the guardrails are in place, companies can build on this to ensure no breaches occur.
There is a huge opportunity with generative AI coming. Maureen Fleming, Program Vice President in IDC’s AI and Automation Research Practice, said, “AI-powered roughly 20% of business automation spending in 2022. With generative AI poised to spread across all areas of an enterprise, we are at the very beginning of a cycle that will see generative automation rapidly expand automation opportunities, speed up automation development, and enable users to automate as needed to do their jobs.”
Enterprise Times: What does this mean
While some of the detail behind what Automation Anywhere is introducing is missing, these new features offer huge potential. As RPA delivered major efficiency improvements, generative AI promises similar advancements if implemented correctly. There is still the necessity for human validation in most communication loops. However, generative AI solutions could very quickly change the nature of how people interact with businesses. It will make it more efficient at the risk of de-personalising the relationship.
Use cases abound, and Automation Anywhere sees deployment possibilities across all the verticals it serves, including healthcare, manufacturing, and financial services. Use cases could include streamlining operations, improving customer service, and sales enablement. Automation Anywhere also believes that its solutions can achieve this while protecting the ethics and standards of their organization.
