Handshake PIxabay - handshake-4011416_1280Rootstock has announced a strategic alliance with Deloitte Digital. The announcement follows on from the acquisition of Nubik by Deloitte Canada last year. Nubik was a Salesforce consultancy and a partner of both FinancialForce and Rootstock. The alliance catapults Rootstock to a much wider prospect list of enterprise customers that it was already proving itself with.

The new alliance will see Deloitte Digital becoming a premier implementation partner for Rootstock. As Nubik the firm, helped to implement the solution at one of Rootstock’s flagship customers, Boston Dynamics, the robotics company deployed Rootstock ERP alongside Salesforce Service Cloud and Experience Cloud. Boston Dynamics robots were featured at the Rooted In conference earlier this year.

David Stephans, CEO of Rootstock Software, who Enterprise Times interviewed recently commented, “Deloitte Digital delivers the digital transformation expertise and consultancy resources we need to scale globally for growth among midsize manufacturers. Their team extends our ability to serve manufacturers that envision complex system and business process scenarios. With our manufacturing Cloud ERP serving as a core solution, we’ll be able to offer manufacturers—using or interested in the Salesforce Platform—a viable, modern alternative to today’s rigid, slow-to-adapt legacy ERP providers.”

Key alliance for Deloitte Digital

The alliance will aim to sell and implement Rootstock to manufacturers and distributors with revenue between $50M and $1B. The alliance is also Global, with Rootstock having a growing customer base across Europe, Asia and North America. Deloitte Digital already has engagements in Canada, the United States, Australia, and Europe.

The focus for Deloitte will be in the mid-market across industries where it already has deep expertise. These include Energy, Resource & Industrial, Technology Media & Telecom, and Health Care & Life Sciences. Where Rootstock fits in is that it will enable Deloitte customers to extend their Salesforce implementations with finance, distribution, and manufacturing features all on the same underlying platform.

Deloitte will also invest in this consulting team. It aims to grow the headcount by 250% over the next three years offering Rootstock to midmarket companies worldwide. Deloitte Digital is a major Salesforce partner operating in 56 countries, with a large presence in North America. Deloitte Digital was named a wave leader for Salesforce consulting partners worldwide by Forrester and won the Salesforce Partner Innovation Award in 2022.

Camil Bourbeau, Partner, Deloitte Canada, who joined from Nubik, commented, “From the first time we implemented Rootstock Manufacturing ERP for a client, we were convinced of its effectiveness as a solution for midsize manufacturers. Our experience implementing Rootstock in the North American market has prepared us to set our sights globally, and to continue building a center of excellence for Cloud ERP on Salesforce. We’re excited to help manufacturers around the world improve their operations and manage critical challenges, like supply chain concerns and adapting to an increasingly automated working environment.”

Enterprise Times: What does this mean

This is a major announcement for Rootstock and Stephans. It demonstrates that under his leadership, the company is not looking for iterative growth. Working with Deloitte, the vendor will be taken more seriously by Manufacturers who are also seriously considering a move to the cloud to replace their legacy solutions.

One of the key aspects of this announcement is that it is not a new alliance. Rather, Deloitte Digital has recognised the value that it brings to its customers and has decided to double down on the relationship. What will be interesting to see is whether it announces a similar alliance with FinancialForce.
