The partnership will help customers leverage massive data sets using analytics systems such as Hadoop-Hive, Cloudera and Teradata. SQream has partnered with Hitachi Vantara since 2021. However, this latest announcement sees the integration of the SQream Data Acceleration platform with Hitachi Content Software for File, a highly parallel NVMe-based file system and Hitachi Content Platform (HCP) object storage.

The challenge for large corporations is that data volume is still increasing exponentially.  That data is provided by new IoT sensors, application usage monitoring and increased digital touch points across businesses. Statista estimates that by 2020, 64.2 zettabytes of data was created, captured, copied, and consumed worldwide. By 2025 that figure will rise to 181 zettabytes.

The SQream platform uses GPUs to help process data to unprecedented volumes. It is a challenge organisations face as their traditional analytics solutions grind to a halt from the volume of data. A major global manufacturer faced this situation. Hitachi Vantara storage systems combined with the SQream platform enabled the organisation to ingest and analyze petabytes of data from its machine sensors. The resulting analysis enabled the company to significantly improved its equipment efficiency.

Benny Yehezkel, CRO of SQream, commented: “Extensive data analysis has become synonymous with long ETL processes and queries that, in turn, result in many organizations receiving valuable insights too late and less accurate AI/ML models.

“This joint offering with our partner Hitachi Vantara accelerates Total Time to Insights (TTTI) and turns data into business value with unprecedented cost-effectiveness, providing great potential for our common customers.”

Strength in Partnership

Hitachi Vantara is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd. It is focused on delivering intelligent data platforms, infrastructure systems and consulting services to enterprises. Hitachi brings together intelligent data management solutions alongside partners such as SQream to solve the massive data challenges faced by the world’s largest organisations. If data is the new oil, Hitachi Vantara provides the refinery expertise to turn it into something of use.

Tanya Loughlin, director of product marketing, Content Platforms for Hitachi Vantara, commented: “There is no question that customers are seeking ways to achieve faster insights for time-sensitive and strategic use cases. Together with SQream, we are excited to empower our customers to be even more data-driven, generating new value from their data for faster insights and better decision-making.”

Enterprise Times: What does this mean

This should prove a good partnership for SQream. However, it will need to convince Hitachi of its importance within the Hitachi Ecosystem. As of writing, there is no mention of the partnership on the Hitachi Vantara website. Oddly, Hitachi is not found on the SQream website despite the partnership going back to 2021. Hopefully, the two companies will also have a named customer reference soon to help cement and fuel future success.
