Details of the release were made available in a webinar, available on demand. The release includes updates to existing products and some new tools. The release delivers functionality that automates workforce planning, speeds up the payroll close. There are also new AI features. The webinar will include details of some of the upcoming AI features that Deel plans to roll out in 2026.

Kobi Eldar, Head of Product for EOR and Payroll at Deel, commented, “This release is about giving teams the infrastructure they need when it matters most. This release gives teams the infrastructure to turn that complexity into clarity. Whether you’re finalising comp plans, closing Payroll across dozens of countries, or planning your 2026 workforce, these tools help you move faster, decide with confidence, and start the new year ahead.”

Year-end Planning

Ethan Welty, Product Marketing, Deel HR, explained the updates in the Deel Drop Fall 2025 webinar. He explained that the calibration experience for performance reviews has been enhanced. Deel has improved the filtering options and added tagging to the calibration heatmap to facilitate easier collaboration with others.

Welty also highlighted the challenge of multiple revisions of spreadsheets, noting that the concept of “headcount planning final final final.xls” is inferred if not specifically explained. It is a challenge many face. Deel has introduced a single workflow to manage the process.

Welty noted, “With the new planning cycles feature, it all moves into one clean workflow. You set the timeline, invite the right people, and everyone works from the same numbers. The result is faster planning, fewer delays, and getting your HR and finance teams, starting January, fully aligned.”

A new Scenario planner enables users to understand the implications of changing headcount on the fly. Change the headcount number, and the costs will be fully explained. If the user finds the right combination, they can turn these scenarios into job requests with a single click.

The release also integrates these planning tools with a compensation band. It enables users to unify pay and performance decisions across HR and Finance. Welty explained, “There’s one single source of truth. It means pay decisions are fair, explainable and cost-efficient with accurate headcount costs when headcount planning.”

Overall, these updates aim to enable HR and finance Leaders to complete their headcount and budget planning early in 2026.

Payroll improvements

Will Blalock, Product Marketing Manager for Payroll at Deel, explained the updates to the Payroll system. The aim is to reduce the time spent on the year-end process with the Payroll department. Using customer feedback, Deel has improved the automation within the product to enhance its effectiveness.

Deel Payroll enables users to see all payroll data in a single dashboard. Rather than having to chase information across different systems, clients using Deel can view payroll information for different countries on a single page.

Blalock noted, “No more logging into five different systems or spending hours manually mapping files. Get one unified dashboard and a standard gross net report across your countries, making year-end much faster, cleaner and simpler. Plus, getting started is smoother than ever with automated data transfer once you’ve got your data together.”

Deel Professional Employer Organization (PEO) now handles partial pay calculations automatically, enabling pay for mid-month leavers and joiners to be calculated automatically. Deel Payroll is also supporting auto-submission. Each payroll cycle is run automatically with built-in approvals, reducing stress levels for payroll teams. The system also supports bulk updates, saving Payroll teams a lot of time, for example, updating employees with a standard percentage raise.

With this release, Deel has also launched Benefits administration. Employee benefit elections and costs flow directly into Deal Payroll, cutting down on mismatched numbers, rekeying, or last-minute fixes. For US customers, there is direct carrier integration to ensure health, retirement, and insurance changes are updated in Payroll automatically.

Global Mobility

Joel Alcaraz, Product Marketing Manager, explained the updates for global organisations. It is now possible to launch business visa applications direct from within the platform. The process starts by checking eligibility for the short-term work visa.

Deel initially built the new Entity Management System for its own operations. It is now extending its use to customers globally. Alcaraz explained the feature saying, “Entity Management System brings all your entity data, from bylaws to shareholder records, together into one secure hub connected directly to Deel Payroll and HR, which means less admin, stronger compliance and audit-ready records.”

AI Advances

Deel has added three new digital workers or agentic AI agents:

  • The Hiring Guru
  • The Time off Fairy
  • The Payroll Detective

These agents both answer questions and can take action, executing specific workflows within their zone of expertise. These are digital assistants, with humans kept in the loop to approve any transaction undertaken by the agent.

Alcaraz stated, “Agents are built to support your work, not replace it. Humans stay in control. People approve actions, review exceptions and own the final decisions. And just like other tools, you’ll be able to activate, deactivate and reassign agents as your needs evolve.”

Alcaraz also revealed that customers will soon be able to build their own agents on plug-in trusted partner agents. Admins build agents using a natural language interface to describe the agent they want. They can determine who has access to the agent. Once the agent is live, the user can see how often it is used.

What is coming next

Alcaraz also gave an insight into the future releases. He commented, “Our next wave of improvements is all about making your experience smoother, faster and more flexible.” Features coming soon will include:

  • Time off in lieu, recognise extra hours with earned time off
  • Field-level permissions for HRIS, precise control over what workers and managers can see or edit
  • Compensation bans, structured pay tied to job profiles
  • Deel calendar, even more visibility on who’s out across your teams
  • Work records and comp history, cleaner timeline of every role and pay change
  • Crypto payouts, even more flexible ways to get paid
  • Time tracking, simple and accurate logging
  • Expense card controls, smarter guardrails on spending

Enterprise Times: What does this mean

This is a significant release from Deel, with only the key updates announced in the press release and on the webinar. Deel is building a multi-entity, multi-national complete HRIS solution. It is building a platform to meet all the needs of a modern HR team, whether centralised or decentralised.

While no release notes were available, what was seen was impressive. It will, however, be interesting to see more details about how the digital agents work and the scope of activities they will have.
