His appointment follows the departure of Salvatore Tocco at the end of 2023. Tocco is now VP of Sales at Laylo. Roth has fifteen years of sales experience, 9 of which are in sales leadership.

He is also recognised as a LinkedIn Top Sales Voice. Some of his posts over the last few months are worth taking a look at. There is a mix of witticisms and anecdotal advice as he shares his learning experiences as a Sales leader. Roth will join a team that now has over 450 employees and will be based in San Francisco.

While the announcement was made this week, Roth joined the company a few months ago. Who is Josh Roth?

Roth has had a career across several sectors. He joined from Lob, where he was Vice President, Commercial Sales. Having overseen a 400% increase in revenue from $20 million to $100 million during nearly three years there. He had joined the company as Sr Director Inside Sales & Enablement.

Roth spent 18 months at WalkMe as Sr. Business Development Manager. He was head of Sales at Presidio for four years. There he helped turn the company around from $200,000 in debt to $1.5m of EBITA in 4 years. Roth was appointed interim head of sales during his time there and managed teams of up to 25 employees: sales reps, account executives and sales development managers.

He co-founded SDRDefenders, a community of revenue professionals that was acquired by Pavilion the same day that WalkMe had its IPO.

While the last decade has been spent at tech firms, he started his career in sports. He was Marketing Communications Manager for the University of Oregon Athletic Department. That was before joining the New York Mets, first in Inside sales, and then successfully rising to become the enterprise sales executive.

Roth also holds a BA degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Oregon. He also holds an MBA from the University of California, Irvine.

Enterprise Times: What does this mean

Pipefy has managed to snag a rapidly rising star in Roth. He has been successful in the roles he has held to date and is an experienced sales leader. He has a big challenge ahead, to grow revenue at Pipefy in the US. Can Roth be as successful in his previous roles? He certainly has the experience both in terms of selling and building successful sales teams.
