Oracle NetSuite has completed another Hackathon 4Good. This was the largest event to date, with 168 NetSuite employees in 11 countries making up 27 teams. The event supported CalFoods Logistics, a logistics intermediary serving food banks across the state of California, and Hope Rehabilitation Center, a modern rehabilitation centre in Pakistan that provides high-quality artificial limbs and prosthetics as well as therapy to Pakistanis at a reasonable cost.

The teams spent 48 hours developing solutions for the non-profit organisations. As in previous years, the solutions provided impressed the judges. The winning teams were LAMBS for CalFoods Logistics and Funk Masters for Hope Rehab. CalFoods Logistics will be able to deliver more essential food items to food banks with the LAMBS prototype. Hope Rehab will have a powerful external-facing webpage that will allow patients and their caregivers to browse inventory.

Charisse Ross, CalFoods chief operations officer, commented: “We are amazed at how much work each team did in such a short time to come up with a solution. The winning team’s solution is going to help streamline our process and eliminate having to manually reconcile and create reports. The amount of time saved can be used to help feed more people in California.”
