Claudio Parrinello

Claudio started his career as a physics researcher at various academic institutions until 1999, when he set up a consultancy firm near Geneva. In 2005 Claudio joined CERN, the largest physics research centre in the world, where he occupied numerous roles over 6 years, including leading the Knowledge & Technology Transfer unit. After leaving CERN in 2011, Claudio co-founded Terabee, an innovative digital sensing start-up. In 2017, he became CEO of Malta-based NFT company Unico. In 2019 he co-founded PlanetWatch, as a CERN spin-off. As CEO of PlanetWatch, Claudio is leading the company’s mission to leverage blockchain technology in order to provide decentralized air quality monitoring on a community-driven basis.
