(C) Therabody/NetSuiteOne of the challenges that swiftly follows completing a funding round is that business leaders must prepare their organisations to scale. One issue is often the business software that underpins the organisation.

It was this challenge that Therabody, a global leader in wellness technology, faced after closing a $165 million private growth equity investment led by North Castle Partners in 2022.

At the time, the company was using a mix of Salesforce applications to manage functions that included ecommerce, inventory management, CRM, and other functions. At the time of the initial funding, Therabody launched eight new products, and it needed to improve its operational systems.

It selected NetSuite as it provided a single system that worked harmoniously from order to cash. It replaced disconnected systems that needed manual processes to update data between them.

Today, Therabody has a wide range of wellness and recovery products, including the Theragun device, which drove its early success. The firm sells products both online and within retailers in over 60 countries. This international expansion was another factor that drove the decision to move to NetSuite with its support for 27 languages and 190 currencies.

Yash Murali, Chief Technology Officer, Therabody said, “With rapid growth, we’ve seen firsthand how a complex technology stack becomes difficult to scale.

“NetSuite has helped us bring our operations together with AI capabilities that simplify and accelerate workflows. We now have a strong foundation to support our next stage of growth, which means our team can spend more time on strategic initiatives that move the business forward.”

Looking back on a success

Four years later, Therabody has unified its global operations. The ability to consolidate subsidiaries has enabled the organisation to obtain visibility across its global organisation. It has optimised operational performance and global compliance, reducing risk substantially across its operations.

Importantly, NetSuite has also driven down technology costs by using the single solution; Therabody estimates that it has saved 45% in technology costs through implementing NetSuite.

During the initial period, Therabody implemented the following: Analytics Warehouse, CRM, Demand PlanningERP, Fixed Assets Management, Inventory Management, Learning Cloud Support, Manufacturing, NetSuite OneWorld, Order Management, Procurement and SuiteAnalytics Connect.

More recently, it has implemented NetSuite Advanced Order Management. This solution automates and manages the entire life cycle of an order. Through using the application, Therabody has been able to accept, process and ship thousands of orders every day. Importantly, the platform copes with peak periods—a challenge, especially during the golden quarter, when organisations often struggle.

Therabody also implemented the NetSuite AI Connector Service. Therabody uses the NetSuite AI Connector Service to securely connect leading AI models with NetSuite data while maintaining its existing data governance and security.

With Model Context Protocol (MCP) support, the service lets Therabody query operational data in natural language for faster decisions, automate order and inventory workflows to cut manual effort and speed fulfilment, and streamline reconciliation and reporting to close the books faster and more accurately.

Enterprise Times: What does this mean?

What is different about this customer story is that it is one generated by a customer less than five years ago. Many NetSuite customer stories are older. While the press releases and case study are light on any quantitative details, it is still a significant customer story. It also exemplifies where NetSuite stands out against its competition or organisations looking to scale their business internationally.

That scaling is also something that North Castle Partners is fully aware of, with other members of its portfolio using NetSuite to scale their businesses.

Julie Drimel, Senior Vice President of Customer Growth, Oracle NetSuite, explained, “Consumer goods businesses don’t have room for inefficiency — the margins are too tight and the complexity is too high.

“Therabody uses NetSuite to get real visibility and control across its global operations, and they’re using AI built into everyday workflows. That’s what lets them scale efficiently and get their professional-grade wellness technology into more people’s hands.”
