Pulsant has signed a strategic partnership with Nine23. The partnership brings together the most geographically diverse digital infrastructure providers in the UK with a leading UK cybersecurity company. Nine23 offers fully managed IT services based on its Flex platform.
Pulsant will slot into the Nine23 UK Sovereign Private Cloud Services with the addition of fourteen data centres across the UK. It will give customers a choice of a UK-based data centre provider. In addition to the hyperscalers Auzre, Google and AWS that Nine23 already partner with.
The Pulsant data centre portfolio will enable Nine23 to deliver high assurance, resilient, and fully UK sovereign, operationally critical services to the HM Government, Law Enforcement, Defence, and their highly regulated supply chains. With Pulsant only having data centres in the UK, there is a confidence level for UK-based organisations. That may not quite be there from hyperscaler providers.
It means that Nine23 can offer a fully UK sovereign, resilient, accredited, compliant stack. Spanning the physical data centre and infrastructure, all the way to service delivery, from both Nine23 and the data centre provider.
Steve Jewell, Chief Revenue Officer at Nine23, commented, “Enablement is at the heart of everything we do. Nine23 passionately believes that cybersecurity and resilience must be business-enabling, not a constraint.
“Our value lies in empowering cyber resilience across highly regulated UK markets, for which we design, build, and manage systems that are Secure by Design and fully compliant with regulatory requirements for mission-critical operations. Our partnership with Pulsant ensures the sovereignty, resilience and assurance of the physical hosting and network connectivity our services rely on.”
“The secure collation, transit, storage and processing of data are vital to our business. We chose Pulsant because it is UK-managed and operated and can assure full sovereignty throughout these processes.”
Partnership has already started
Although the partnership has only just been formally announced, the two firms have worked together for several months. Pulsant was a guest speaker that the Nine23 Innovation Day held in February.
Jewell added, “We have also found Pulsant to be incredibly collaborative. We are currently working together on a range of initiatives that span accreditation, client retention and the development of regional sovereign networks. This partnership will drive substantial commercial opportunity in the coming months.”
Wendy Shearer, Director of Partners and Ecosystems for Pulsant, spoke at the Innovation Day about the UK Sovereign Data Centres: The Backbone of Digital Infrastructure. Shearer commented, “This partnership is a key milestone in our progress. Nine23 is a fantastic addition to our diverse Partner Ecosystem, bringing unparalleled expertise in the high-assurance space.
“I’m confident that their products and solutions will be of value not just to its clients in the defence, UK governed and regulated markets, but to other partners in our ecosystem. We see huge growth in demand for sovereign infrastructure, and this partnership means that Nine23 can leverage our investment in secure UK platforms to accelerate their growth.”
Enterprise Times: What does this mean
The combination of Nine23 and Pulsant is a compelling combination for UK-focused organisations, especially those concerned about data sovereignty. Both companies already have a long list of customers from both the private and public sectors.
Nine23 brings government organisations such as the Food Standards Agency, HM Treasury and the Financial Conduct Authority. Pulsant brings BP Collins Solicitors, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and British Rowing.
It will be interesting to see who gains the most from this relationship. As both firms have an opportunity to cross sell services between them. Together, they also create a significant set of services that many in the private and public sectors will find attractive.
