Infosecurity Europe took place this week, but there were few new announcements. Companies are caught between RSA and Black Hat in the USA when it comes to making major announcements. Instead, Enterprise Times recorded a number of podcasts at the show.
In other news, Veracode has appointed Simon Adell as its new Chief Financial Officer. The global leader in application risk management said that this represents a significant milestone. As the company targets its next milestone for strategic growth. It does not, however, indicate what that milestone is!
Enterprise Times recorded a podcast with Bronwyn Boyle at Infosecurity Europe. In addition to her role as CISO at PPRO, Boyle is EVP Resilient Communities at cybermindz. In that latter role, Boyle is a staunch and energetic advocate for greater mental health support in cybersecurity.
Enterprise Times also recorded a podcast with James Morris OBE, CEO of the CSBR. Morris talked about the challenges around the UK Cybersecurity and Resilience Bill, about the bill and the challenges it faces. The CSBR has recently published a policy note looking at the bill. In this conversation, Morris expands on that note and addresses some other key issues that the bill faces, especially in implementation.
Bregal Milestone launched CyberSentriq, a purpose-built platform aimed at Managed Service Providers. The platform is a merger of the company’s Redstor, a company already owned by Bregal Milestone and TitanHQ, a recent acquisition for an undisclosed amount.
Trend Micro has released a UK-based version of its Vision One platform. The company says that this is about meeting an increased demand for data sovereignty, compliance and resilience among UK organisations. Data sovereignty is not just a UK demand. Worldwide, there is an increasing demand for it.

360 Privacy has announced a strategic partnership with the Hetherington Group (Hg). Hetherington Group’s investigative and intelligence expertise will link with 360 Privacy’s cutting-edge platform to bring unmatched automation, scalability, and efficiency to the same mission.
CISA
The Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has issued alerts over industrial control systems (ICS). In the last week, it has published two key advisories. The first addresses seven ICS from CyberData, Hitachi and Mitsubishi Electric. The second covered ICS systems from Schneider and the Mitsubishi Electric MELSEC iQ-F Series.
It has also added multiple known exploited vulnerabilities to its catalog, covering products from ASUS, Craft and ConnectWise, along with issues covering Qualcomm chipsets.
FBI
The FBI, CISA and the Australian Signals Directorate have issued an update on Play ransomware, also known as Playcrypt. The update contains new TTPs and IOCs. It also repeated previous advice on how to avoid being infected.
US Department of Justice
145 darknet and traditional internet domains, and cryptocurrency funds associated with the BidenCash marketplace have been seized. The marketplace made it easy to buy and sell stolen credit cards and associated personal information.
Launched in 2022, the administrators charged a fee for every transaction. With over 117,000 customers trading over 15 million payment card numbers and PII, it generated more than $17 million in revenue. The domains now redirect to a server controlled by law enforcement. Any data seized will be used to conduct further operations against BidenCash customers.
Keysight Technologies Inc. (Keysight) has been hit with a divestiture order as part of its Spirent Communications plc (Spirent) acquisition. It must dispose of the high-speed Ethernet testing, network security testing, and RF channel emulation businesses to resolve antitrust concerns arising from their proposed $1.5 billion merger.
Abigail Slater, Assistant Attorney General of the Antitrust Division, said, “This structural solution preserves competition for key testing equipment used to ensure that data moves quickly and securely across the world.
“The proposed divestiture to Viavi, an established and innovative test and measurement company, ensures that American consumers and businesses will continue to benefit from competition that promotes innovation, and which allows American companies to maintain global leadership.”
