Epicor Grow is Epicor’s all-in-one cloud business intelligence solution. This provides both low-code and no-code features to support developers and business users to create stories using data visualisations. The Grow platform was originally purchased in 2022 and is fully integrated into the Epicor platform.

Earlier this year, Epicor announced the availability of Epicor Prism in North America. It also revealed the embedding of AI agents into Kinetic ERP. Prism was first revealed at Epicor Insights 2024, and it leverages the data held in the Epicor Grow Data Cloud. The solution enables users to interact with the data held within their ERP.

Each agent is purpose-built to address a specific task. Users can interact with them to reduce the number of mundane tasks that they have to complete. The agents cover numerous functions within the business, including finance, production, customer service, and operations.

At Insights this year, Epicor revealed that Prism is now available for integration with Epicor Industry ERP Cloud, including Epicor Prophet 21 (new) and Epicor Kinetic. The firm has extended Epicor AI to support over 200 use cases. The features are purpose built to support supply chain industries.

Steve Murphy, CEO, Epicor, commented, “Today’s announcement is a major step forward that delivers on Epicor’s vision to build a collaborative supply chain network using industry-specific AI agents.

“Customers that use Epicor AI have a real competitive advantage, improving overall business performance, productivity, and efficiencies. As customers navigate and overcome disruption from external factors such as tariffs, supply chain constraints, and economic pressures, Epicor is empowering them with data to spark actionable insights.”

How Prism is helping customers

Epicor unveiled several of the agents that it has already created and are already used by customers.

Fast-track employee onboarding

The Prism Knowledge Agent provides a faster, easier way to access relevant information from Epicor Help Documentation, Knowledge Base, Epicor Learning Courses, and Release Notes. It enables new employees to rapidly onboard with the right information presented by the AI at the right times.

Erica Breaux, Contracts Manager with New Wave Design, commented, “Instead of searching through documents, employees can use Epicor Knowledge Agent to get instant guidance, saving up to 50 minutes per question and fostering a more self-sufficient workforce.”

Devon Ellis, IT Manager at Cascade Engineering Technologies, commented, “Using Prism Knowledge Agent saves our company support team members up to 55 minutes per question when assisting employees with training and support.”

Increase employee responsiveness

Prism helps organisations to view the insights that often lie hidden in their data. The solution can help accelerate decisions. It can track quotes and extract key information to enable a real comparison between the different pricing and terms with easily consumable data visualisations. It can even suggest responses to quotations or suggest the next steps users should take.

Andy Young, VP Systems and Processes at Olympus Group. “One of the most important metrics for us is on-time delivery. I really think Epicor Prism can increase our responsiveness to customers and get a typical eight-week delivery time down to four weeks. There’s probably opportunity for 20% gain in the operation.”

Enhance decision-making with rapid visual analysis

Users can analyze lists, charts, metrics, and orders with ease. Epicor AI agents collaborate to serve up suggested parts, suppliers, costs and delivery schedules. Thus cutting down communication by up to 40%, according to early results.

Jason Bassett, IT Manager at Madsen’s Custom Cabinets, commented, “Epicor has a rich offering of learning and help which our IT personnel use to support our team. Prism saves our IT personnel up to 3-4 hours per week answering questions from our team members.”

Streamline information retrieval

Users can interact with the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) agent, which enables users to request information in natural language. For example, a user could request all contracts held in Epicor ECM that had specific conditions.

Andy Young commented, “ECM allows us to store our unique instructions and problem-solving guides so they can be referenced by anyone in the company.</em> The ECM Agent for Prism acts as a troubleshooting agent saving us 5 to 10 minutes each time we need to research our documents.”

Epicor Grow AI

Epicor Grow AI provides a predictive AI modelling engine that is built on the enterprise-grade Grow Data Platform. The data platform can import business-critical data, providing a single source of truth. Integrations using APIs enable the ingestion of data from third-party platforms such as databases, CRN and other SaaS platforms. Once ingested, users are able to prepare, cleanse and transform data. Normalising it and preparing it to be used in data visualisations.

The Grow Data platform is scalable. It is able to meet the requirements of any organisation and eliminates the need for a third-party data warehouse. The data set is ready for the Grow AI to assess and extract insights, making organisations AI-ready.

Grow also integrates directly into Epicor Kinetiq ERP. For example, the Grow AI Item Advisor can analyse historical sales data. It can surface recommendations for add-on items that are frequently sold with the item being purchased in real time. This enables sales and support staff to upsell during calls, potentially improving the customer experience, though lightening their wallet.

R “Ray” Wang, Founder, Chairman and Principal Analyst of Silicon Valley based Constellation Research Inc, said, “These benefits highlight how those who utilize AI capabilities can set themselves apart. Customers and prospects seek advanced AI solutions tailored to the unique challenges of the supply chain industries, maximizing value through actionable insights.

“Not only will businesses see their productivity, decision-making, and efficiency greatly improve, but they will also have the data to navigate and overcome supply chain pressures.”

Enterprise Times: What does this mean?

Epicor continues to fill out its platform, embedding AI capabilities that appear practical and deliver value to customers. As is normal for Epicor, it has focused its efforts on delivering Agentic AI solutions that will make a real difference to its manufacturing customer base. As Andy Young noted, a 20% gain in operational efficiency is significant. This is a metric that could make a significant difference to profitability and other key metrics.

While information around the details of what these 200 Agents do was not available, attendees at Epicor Insight will no doubt have been able to find out more. For those based in Europe excited by this announcement, the Epicor Insights Europe event will be held June 2nd-4th at  Chesford Grange Hotel, Kenilworth, Warwickshire, UK.
