If you’re using Zoho Project then I know that you are enjoying the ease with which to interact with others through this application on projects. My Company uses Zoho Projects to keep track of all my projects on the go. We are currently using the “Premium” version of the product. If you like me have a multitude of projects on the go at the same time it sometimes becomes difficult to see the wood for the trees.
Having the ability to filter out the items you are most interested in at the time is very useful. Being able to filter across different types of projects or tasks, tasks that are not using the same templates or even the same employees, is extremely important. Zoho Project can do that easily.
Zoho Project can filter both project lists or tasks inside a project using the tags.
How to set things up
Firstly I would suggest that you read my tip How to change or add a tag in Zoho Projects. Where I explain how to create a new tag or change the tags that Zoho provides.
Here is a screen shot of a list of tasks with different tags attached.
My scenario is that I simply want to see all billable items on one screen and not everything else.
Filter by a tag
- Hover your mouse over the title [Tags] in the first line of the list you see. (column 6).
- Right mouse click.
A list appears.
- Select [Apply filter].
The screen darkens and a list appears on the right-hand side of your screen.
- Locate the Tags section in the lower part of this area.
My list only holds 4 tags, which is why this list only holds those four for you to choose from.
- Tick the one tag you require at this time. [Billable].
At this moment, please ignore the billing type option below.
- Select the Find button at the bottom of the screen.
You will be presented with this.
Notice there is a new line of buttons that have now appeared above the list of tasks and projects.
You can save this view as a new Custom view to use again and again. Look out for the next tip where I shall explain this further.
