Envoy has launched a complete rebuild of Actionable Analytics. This new version includes major feature upgrades and new capabilities. The company claims this version is focused on occupancy, attendance, desks, rooms, visitors and workplace deliveries.
Actionable Analytics is aimed at helping organisations that are struggling with return-to-office and large spaces that are badly used and underutilised. It will give them the most detailed view of office space usage. That will allow them to decide how to reduce office space cost while still meeting the needs of the business.
Larry Gadea, Founder and CEO of Envoy, said, “People are wasting an awful lot of money with empty offices sitting around symbolically as a commitment to a particular city, yet the employees maybe go in zero to one day a week.
“In an era of cost-cutting and efficiency-seeking in business, it’s nothing short of wild to be ignoring such egregious waste. Either make your RTO policy clear and leverage the efficiency of a human-centric and collaborative in-office culture, or close down that absurdly expensive office and get back that money. What we’re launching today will help you with either.”
What is Actionable Analytics delivering?
In simple terms, it is providing a single source of truth about what is happening in an office. Current systems use a variety of dashboards, often with inconsistent metrics and measurements. It leaves building managers to spend large amounts of time trying to understand building utilisation.
This is about more than just reducing the cost per square foot that businesses are paying for office space. Reducing space brings other savings in terms of power, lighting, cooling and office fixtures. It can also bring efficiencies by combining key departments and co-locating commonly used spaces.
It can also highlight problem areas that need attention or to be redefined. As workers come back to the office, grudgingly, they are going to want reasons to be there. That means environments that are pleasant to be in, and conducive to work.
Five key features in this update
Envoy has listed five key features in this update. They are:
- Six rebuilt dashboards: Occupancy, attendance, desks, rooms, visitors, and deliveries—all redesigned to include consistent charts, new filters, and accessible insights across both global and location levels.
- A brand new Strategic Insights dashboard: This dashboard brings together cost per square foot, office attendance, meeting room utilization, and other data inputs to surface tailored recommendations around consolidation, repurposing, or expansion. It’s designed to help companies maximize the efficiency of their spaces.
- Interactive filtering and data exploration: Users can slice data by department, floor, booking source, visitor type, and more. They can drill into peak hours, no-show rates, desk utilization trends, and employee-to-desk ratios—without needing typical analyst support.
- Customizable dashboards: Admins can configure dashboards to show what matters most to their business—whether that’s top hosts for visitors, average meeting durations, or cost per desk.
- New export options and reporting workflows: Export data into CSV, Excel, JSON, PNG, or PDF. Schedule recurring email reports to execs with up-to-date attendance and occupancy data.
Each of these features gives far more detail than was previously available. More importantly, the data is integrated, allowing analysts to make detailed decisions based on facts, not guesswork.
Envoy also said that future versions will have additional analytics features. One of those will “enable companies to benchmark their workplace performance against other similar organizations and gain even more practical insights into real estate utilization.”
Enterprise Times: What does this mean
The days of time and motion experts watching how offices work are long gone. Today’s systems need to track so many different metrics. This is not just about how efficiently do people move in an office but how does an office encourage work. That requires much more detailed and varied information that is captured by different systems.
At the cold, hard end of the business, every square inch of office space has costs. Not just the cost of the space but all the utilities that go into it. Lighting and heating areas that are under utilised is a waste of money. Businesses can no longer allow money to flow out without tracking what they get for it.
But that has to be tempered with the need to create a workable and attractive environment. Workers do not want a return to inefficient and isolating cubicles. They want to feel comfortable so that they can produce their best work.
This complete rewrite of Actionable Analytics by Envoy seeks to provide as much data as is possible to help deliver for both employees and the business. Importantly, it is also looking to the future, which shows that it sees more gains to come.
