Crown, appointment - image credit Jametlene Reskp on UnsplashDatatonic, the leading cloud data + AI consultancy and  Google partner of the Year, has appointed Scott Eivers as Global Chief Executive Officer. The current CEO and Founder, Louis Decuypere, is stepping down from the role.

Decuypere commented, “The journey we have been on has been exhilarating to date, and we’re excited to take the next step. After nearly 10 incredible years building this company, and with Datatonic stronger than ever, I believe now is the perfect moment to transition leadership for our next phase of growth.

“My commitment to Datatonic and belief in our future remains stronger than ever, and with Scott’s leadership and our amazing team, I am incredibly excited about the unprecedented success ahead.”

While it is not clear what role Decuypere will assume, there is likely to be a transition period. Eivers commented, “I have been truly inspired by the leading data and AI tech talent at Datatonic. I am looking forward to working beside such transformational thinkers at this incredible AI market crossroads.”

Eivers is not the only new hire for Datatonic. It also hired David Kress as CRO to boost growth globally in October. Kress does not appear to have worked with Eivers before and that relationship will be key over the next few months for Datatonic.

What is Eivers joining

Datatonic is a fast growing consultancy firm, taking advantage of the demand for its expertise around cloud services and AI. That growth was recently recognised by being named seventh in Oxygen’s Fast-Growth 50, compiled in partnership with Giacom. Datatonic has grown from 33 employees in 2020 to 128 employees in 2024.

The Datatonic team is rapidly growing to meet the global demand for strategic technical partners. Its proven AI skills address a wide range of business issues, and growth is outpacing the demand for all other professional and technical service markets; it has recently been named as one of the fastest-growing MSPs in the UK.

Datatonic’s services are at the leading edge of modern data and AI expertise. They blend strategic consulting with strategy and deep technical expertise, assisting organisations through complex transformation projects at a time when skilled resources are often scarce.

At Liberty Global, it helped Liberty Shared Services to automate its invoice processing to maximize efficiency and minimize human error. It created a back office Agent using GenAI, BigQuery and DocAI that helped reduce invoice processing by 70%.

At Vodafone it leveraged its extensive knowledge of GenAI to build a large-scale GenOps platform to deploy over 600 models. It works closely with Google Cloud and was a launch partner for Google Cloud’s new Agentspace, which helps Datatonic customers catapult productivity with GenAI Agents.

Who is Scott Eivers?

Eivers joins from Nordcloud, an IBM Company, where he joined as a Chief Growth Officer in 2019. For the last 3 years, he has been the Regional Director for UKI for the leading European hyperscaler cloud services business, which is now part of IBM.

Nordcloud has partnerships with AWS, Microsoft, Azure, Google Cloud, SAP and Red Hat, so he will already have relationships with the Google Cloud leadership. Acquired by IBM in 2020, he helped grow the company from a challenger to a leader in the market. Decuypere will hope that he can replicate the growth trajectory for Datatonic.

Prior to Nordcloud, he spent five years at Gartner, doubling the EMEA business consulting unit, which he led every Year. Before Gartner he worked in the telecommunications industry, holding leadership positions at Vodafone and BT.

Enterprise Times:  What does the mean?

Exciting Times for Datatonic. Eivers brings a depth of experience in growing companies. It is a brave and wise move by Decuypere, who understands that it needs a new kind of leader to take the company forward.

At the same time, it seems likely that he will have some kind of involvement that normally works best when founders transition to an advisory role on the board. It will be interesting to see what plans Eivers has for growth and how he works with Decuypere and Kress.

The firm last raised funding in March 2023, when Perwyn made a substantial investment in the firm, enabling it to acquire Montreal Analytics in North America. Will Eivers look for further funding to accelerate growth inorganically?
