Cork is becoming more popular for tech companies. Following the announcement last week that Bluevoyant had opened a new SOC in Cork, Tricentis has announced an expansion in the city. Tricentis is planning to create 50 jobs in the area. It will move to a larger office space to accommodate the growing team.
The company has over 80 open positions currently, with six specifically based in Cork, and several more remote positions potentially available. Tricentis has over 26 offices globally, its most recently opened one being in Dubai. The growth has been fuelled by the $1.33 billion investment made by GTCR in November last year.

Kevin Thompson, Tricentis CEO, stated, “Ireland plays a crucial role in our vision to drive Tricentis revenue over $1 billion and cement ourselves globally as the leader in software quality.
“The majority of our executive team has already been building and managing teams within Ireland for many years, so we know from experience what an incredible advantage we gain from closer ties with such a business-friendly country and highly talented workforce.
“We look forward to continuing our journey and contributing to the vibrant tech ecosystem in Ireland.”
Minister for Enterprise Tourism & Employment, Peter Burke TD, stated, “I welcome the news that Tricentis is expanding its team in Cork, creating 50 new roles. This development exemplifies the type of projects we aim to attract and secure under Ireland’s National AI Strategy: ‘AI – Here for Good’. It underscores the Government’s commitment to leveraging trustworthy, people-centred AI for the benefit of our economy and society.”
Irish Government supports Cork Growth.
Tricentis opened its first office in Cork in 2022. It grew quickly with a focus on consolidating international finance and building various functions such as payroll, accounts payable, projects, revenue, legal, data analytics, and more. The new job roles will expand the office and include engineering, sales, finance, support, and business operations. It will also focus on customer growth.
Like many other tech companies looking to grow in Ireland the investment is supported by the Irish Government. IDA Ireland, the investment promotion agency that helps multinational companies grow and expand into Ireland, worked with Tricentis on the investment.
This was made during a visit by Ireland’s Taoiseach Micheál Martin TD. He visited the Cork site accompanied by IDA Ireland leaders, Geraldine Byrne Nason, Ambassador of Ireland to the United States of America and the Tricentis leadership.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin, TD, said, “This investment highlights Ireland’s appeal as a hub for innovation and technology, supported by the strategic efforts of IDA Ireland. During my meeting with the Tricentis team in Austin, Texas, I learned that the team in Ireland has led several initiatives to optimise Tricentis’ international business operations. We look forward to the positive impact this project will have.”
Michael Lohan, CEO of IDA Ireland, said, “Tricentis’ decision to establish Cork City as an international hub is terrific news. This decision highlights the South West region’s highly skilled and talented workforce. Securing new name investments such as this is central to our new strategy, Adapt Intelligently: A Strategy for Sustainable Growth and Innovation, 2025-29. I wish Tricentis every success and assure them of IDA Ireland’s continued support.”
Enterprise Times: What does this mean?
Good news for Ireland and Cork with the creation of more jobs. However, Cork already has one of the lowest unemployment rates in Ireland. Will Tricentis struggle to recruit locally, or will it need to attract people from other areas of Ireland?
The announcement did not reveals that Tricentis is teaming up with a local university to attract graduates. Will Tricentis, like other tech vendors, look to form a partnership with a University to ensure a flow of talent.
Tricentis is building a powerful team in Cork to help drive international, especially European, growth. Last year, Tricentis reached over $425 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR), with a growth rate of 27%. It is also increasing in profitability. With the GTCR investment, the company will be able to bring its end-to-end, automated continuous testing platform to a much wider audience.
