Will Brown has joined Virtuoso QA, a leader in AI-powered test automation, as its Chief Finance Officer. Marta Villar retains her role as Head of Finance and will report to Brown. Brown, a Chartered Accountant with ICEAW, has over twenty years working in finance. He has worked across audit, corporate finance and leadership roles.
Derren Nisbet, CEO, said, “I’d like to welcome Will as Virtuoso’s new CFO. With his deep expertise in high-growth SaaS businesses, fundraising, and financial strategy, Will is the perfect fit to help drive our next phase of growth. His sharp commercial acumen and proven ability to scale finance functions will be invaluable as we continue to build the future of AI-powered QA.”
Who is Will Brown

Brown was previously CFO at DeGould, the firm behind an AI-powered automated vehicle inspection solution. He joined DeGould from Intigriti, a Netherlands-based cyber security firm. There he helped complete a €21 million Series B funding round led by Octopus Ventures; also participating was Germany-based fund EnBW New Ventures and existing investor ETF Partners.
His first CFO role was for Cloud.IQ. Cloud.IQ is an AI-powered marketing platform with operations in the UK, the US, Spain and Australia. Brown also worked in finance roles at IMG Media and Hotelplan UK Ltd.
At Deloitte, he led Deloitte’s start-up business Propel by Deloitte. Propel is designed specifically to support ambitious start-ups and SMEs as they grow. Offering real-time accounting and bespoke data analytics on a flexible, affordable monthly subscription. Along with advisory services such as funding guidance and systems implementations.
Brown commented, “My passion for growth businesses began during my time working in Propel, a department within Deloitte which focused on ambitious venture-backed businesses. I’m incredibly excited to join the talented team at Virtuoso QA. It is clear the product is in a class of its own, and the team should be really proud of what they’ve achieved so far. Technology doesn’t get more fast-moving than AI right now, and I look forward to helping the leadership team deliver the growth this excellent company deserves.”
Enterprise Times: What does this mean
Virtuoso QA now has an experience CFO alongside Nisbet. It seems likely that he will assist Nisbet with a new funding round at some point. Virtuoso last raised funds in 2021, a $13.3 million Series A round from Crane Venture Partners, Forward Partners, Mubadala Capital, and Downing Ventures. It will be Nisbet’s first funding round as a CEO, and in bringing in Brown, he will have an experienced CFO to support him through the process.
