Celonis has announced the appointment of Daniel Brown as Chief Product Officer. Brown assumes the role vacated in February 2023 by Ariel Bardin who is now President of Technology at the Warner Music Group.
Brown will work closely with the Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams to drive platform innovation across its Process Mining and Process Intelligence platform. He will focus on enhancing the capabilities of the solutions to deliver great productivity, efficiency and sustainability to customers. He will also work on including AI functionality that delivers real value to customers.

Who is Dan Brown
Brown has spend over 25 years in the the software industry. He was Chief Product Officer at Certinia (FinancialForce) for over six years where he led engineering and product management. During his time at Certinia he completely revamped the global product development team. He increased its productivity substantially and the delivery cadence and output. Thus, driving the international growth and introducing AI capabilities as well as additional functionality.
Prior to Certinia he spent 15 years at Microsoft, holding several senior positions. He held roles that included, GM of Corporate Strategy and Development, GM of Dynamics AX Application R&D, and GM of Dynamics NAV R&D.
Brown co-founded and was VP of Product and Engineering at Netabacus, a B2B e-commerce start-up, focused on small-to-medium sized businesses that was acquired by Rivio. He holds several degrees from Stanford University including a masters in computer science, and degrees in physics and philosophy.

Enterprise Times: What does this mean
With several leadership changes at Certinia, it was little surprise that Brown eventually took time away from the industry. However, he was always destined to recent to a leadership position as a market leader. Brown has the knack of explaining complex technology in languages that both business and technology leaders understand.
He is a consummate speaker and Celonis should benefit from his presence and leadership. During his tenure at Certinia he re-invigorated the product team. Giving them direction and delivering products that custmers wanted and the product team enthused about. It will be interesting to see what difference he makes at Celonis.
