Seekr has announced that Dr Lisa Costa has joined its advisory council. Costa was most recently the Chief Technology and Innovation Officer for the US Space Force. For Seekr, this will enable them to draw on her vast experience to open up the government’s need for trusted enterprise AI platforms, especially for use in defence.
Still privately held, Seekr offers a complete AI platform that enables organisations to transform data into trusted applications. And scale them effectively using an infrastructure of the customer’s choice. Seekr’s flagship product, Seekr Flow, allows organisations to build, validate and run trusted AI in one end to end platform.
Seekr supports a range of cloud infrastructure platforms, including AWS, GCP and Azure. Government departments are able to deploy AI workloads cost-effectively. No matter where data is located, in a government cloud, commercial cloud, or on-premise AI appliance.
Seekr recently partnered with Carahsoft Technology Corp, the trusted public Sector IT solutions provider. The agreement will see Carahsoft serve as Seekr’s Master Government Aggregator. Thus, making Seekr’s reliable and transparent AI platform available to the Public Sector. The firm received another boost to its public sector ambition when it was recognised as an awardable vendor to the Department of Defense through the Tradewinds Solutions Marketplace. It will allow Government departments within the DoD to easily procure SeekrFlow.
Rob Clark, Seekr President, commented, “We’re thrilled to welcome Dr Lisa Costa, whose deep defense and national security expertise will accelerate our efforts to deliver advanced AI solutions for government, solving previously intractable problems dealing with complex datasets such as satellite and UAV imagery.”
Who is Dr Lisa Costa
Costa has worked for 35 years in and around the government. She has held senior executive roles in government and the private sector. Her expertise in artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and global IT infrastructure has been leveraged most recently as Chief Technology and Innovation Officer in the US Space Force. Before that she was Director of Communications Directorate and Chief Information Officer for the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).
She is a VC Partner at Squadra Ventures and a board director at CarParts.com. She spent 25 years at MITRE, a research firm that solves some of the nation’s biggest challenges in defence, cybersecurity, healthcare, homeland security, the judiciary and transportation. Her focus during her time there was around defence. She gained her doctorate in computer science from Union Institute and University. She also holds a BS in Mathematics from Rollins College. In 2022, she was named Chief Technology Officer of the Year by WashingtonExec.
Dr. Costa said, “I’m proud to join Seekr and collaborate with a team that shares my vision for trusted AI. Seekr addresses critical AI development needs, including explainability and data security, enabling government agencies to launch mission-critical applications simply and securely. I am excited to bring my 35 years of high-stakes federal and commercial experience to unlock AI’s full potential for government.”
Enterprise Times: What does this mean
In recent months, Seekr has made a concerted effort to open up the doors to the US DoD organisations. With the arrival of Costa, those doors may now open a little wider and be more welcoming. The agreement with Carahsoft and the addition to the Tradewinds Solution Marketplace were two steps forward. As good things normally come in threes, this is the third element of a strategy that should bear fruit in 2025.
Seekr hopes that it can turn expectations into reality and will also be able to add relevant customer stories to its existing portfolio. It is not just about winning new deals; however, with Costa’s deep technology and business knowledge Seekr has the ideal advisor on their board who could offer salient advice for the coming months and years.
