Organik Kimya is a specialty chemical manufacturer focusing on polymer emulsions and specialty chemicals. Established in 1965, the firm has a total production of 288.000tpa with operations in Turkey, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. Its products are distributed worldwide.
With a global network of distributors and around 335 suppliers (as of its Sustainability Report 2022), its logistics and transportation requirements are complex. The complexity is increased by the compliance regulations that some of the chemicals transported require.
Organik Kimya turned to FourKites to improve its supply chain visibility. Overall, it will track 15,000 global inbound and outbound shipments from its factories in Rotterdam and Istanbul. These are shipped via ocean, road and rail. The FourKites solution delivers the Organic Kimya teams more accurate ETAs about its shipments and orders.
The result is that it can improve its production, better manage storage requirements, and inform customers of any revisions to arrival dates in real-time. This has allowed the company to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and better manage delays. Ultimately, the information flow to customers has improved customer satisfaction.
The FourKites solution will also identify any risks around its logistics operation early. Thus enabling Organik Kimya to make data-driven decisions faster.
