Precisely announces the Data Graph API (Image Credit: Carlos Muza on Unsplash)At Trust ’24, Precisely has announced a new Data Graph API. It is a new addition to its Data Enrichment service, which is part of the Precisely Data Integrity Suite. It gives users of the Precisely data portfolio a single unified API for access. Using the PreciselyID, the Data Graph API will make it easier to query and enrich data.

Dan Adams, senior vice president and general manager for data enrichment at Precisely, said, “The launch of the Data Graph API fundamentally transforms how companies bring together data to enhance the contextual relevance of AI and advanced analytics.

“Our data enrichment portfolio is designed to work together seamlessly, using unique identifiers to create a network of connected data where all feature relationships are mapped across datasets. As we extend this by pre-linking data from our trusted partners, the possibilities become limitless. We know this will save our customers time, allowing them to focus more on innovation rather than data preparation.”

What does the Data Graph API enable?

Precisely is delivering more details at Trust ’24, on the Data Graph API to in-person and virtual delegates. The presentations are worth tuning into, especially for those who want to make accessing data simpler and reduce coding complexity.

One of the targets for the Data Graph API is the simplification of data access. Rather than use traditional data access methods for queries, which require a lot of connections and touch a lot of data, Graph API, as the name implies, takes advantage of graph technology. At its core is GraphQL, a query language that is designed for complex data environments where there are very large numbers of connections between data sets.

The unified access that the Data Graph API and the PreciselyID provide, is not just about querying data. It also makes data enrichment easier. If you can find the data to be enriched with a single query, you are not wasting time and CPU cycles running data cleaning and enrichment cycles repeatedly. This also impacts data scalability and performance by reducing the processing cycles required to find and work with data.

Organisations are beginning to realise that the quality of their data has a significant impact on the accuracy of AI projects. With the Data Graph API, organisations can filter the data to be used for an AI project to ensure that it is properly curated.

Enterprise Times: What does this mean?

The more data an organisation holds, the more inaccuracies it has to deal with and the more interconnects it has to manage. Both of these are inhibitors to the effective use of data, high-speed queries and data accuracy.

The Data Graph API will make all of this simpler for data-driven organisations, especially those that rely on very large and complex datasets.
