He takes over the role from Matt Wolf, who left the company in April and is now the Global VP of Channel & Alliances at Neuron7.ai.

Skelding will lead the Rootstock Global Alliances organisation and will look to drive growth, partner collaboration and help them improve customer outcomes. The current Partner Program, which includes a new Gold Partner tier, splits partners into three groups: system integrators, resellers, and channel and referral partners. There are also complimentary technology partners which include Salesforce, Workday, ComplianceQuest and Avalara. Earlier this year, the firm also introduced partner certifications. However, these improvements do not seem to have resulted in an influx of partners.

Rootstock will hope that Skelding can increase the number of partners that Rootstock has globally. A larger partner network will help Rootstock scale faster, giving it the ability to onboard more customers faster, worldwide. Skelding will report to Andy Brabender, who joined the company last month.

Rick Berger, CEO of Rootstock Software commented, “Jonathan brings the leadership and expertise we need to deepen and broaden our strategic alliances. Partner-focused initiatives will increase business opportunities and revenue, as well as expand our global footprint.

“Jonathan’s extensive experience in building alliances, particularly in the manufacturing and industrial sectors, will be instrumental in driving our success. In addition, his proven track record of fostering high-performance channels and creating significant value through partnerships makes him the ideal fit for this role.”

Skelding joined Rootstock in June, having founded and led the EVOLVed SERVICE GROUP for two years. He was also VP of Product Sales at Bolt Data. Prior to Bolt, he was VP of Business Strategy and Operations at Appify, where he implemented Salesforce and grew ARR by over 5,000%.

Prior to leading Sales organisations, he had roles at Element, GE Digital and ServiceMax, leading alliances organisations at a global level. Importantly, ServiceMax is also built on the Salesforce platform. The experience and relationships he will have gained during that role will be very relevant to his new role at Rootstock.

Skelding commented, “I am thrilled to be joining Rootstock at such an exciting time. The manufacturing industry is undergoing a significant transformation driven by increased investments in technology and automation.

“Rootstock ERP helps manufacturers navigate volatility in the market. And by utilizing partners in our network, manufacturers gain the help they need to overcome challenges and seize new opportunities for growth and digital advancement. I look forward to contributing to Rootstock’s global expansion and strengthening our commitment to help manufacturers succeed.”

Enterprise Times: What does this mean

Rootstock has wasted little time in finding a replacement for Wolf. In Skelding, they have someone who has experience growing partner ecosystems. With over 30 years of experience in the industry and 15 years leading sales and partner teams, he seems a good fit. His experience within the Salesforce ecosystem will also help. With Dreamforce rapidly approaching, he will no doubt look to hold conversations with potential partners as they gather in San Francisco.
