Newgen has released the latest version of its GenAI booster to its low-code platform. With the NewgenONE Marvin – APEX Edition, Newgen hopes to scale new heights of enterprise productivity. Marvin already increases the user productivity of its low-code platform and this version promises to further streamline complex workflows, enhance customer engagement, improve guardrails and ensure secure AI integration.
The press release that Newgen Software published to accompany the release is light on details. However, it claims that it will reduce application development time by 40% and save up to 50-70% on document-related tasks. It is, however unclear whether this is the overall improvement that MarvinONE delivers or the iterative improvement from the previous release. When Newgen released MarvinONE at the end of last year, it believed the solution would reduce overall process design time by 70%. The above statistics are likely a more accurate reflection of what MarvinONE has been delivering to clients.
Customers using MarvinONE are also reaping secondary benefits. Newgen believes that customer engagement rises 30%, due to the improvement in communication and reach by 25%. The APEX release is also designed to improve user satisfaction through enhanced decision-making capabilities and better support for customisation.
Varun Goswami, Product Head at Newgen, said, “The Apex edition of NewgenONE Marvin introduces a new level of efficiency to enterprise productivity. With advanced features, organizations can supercharge workflows, improve decision-making, and empower communication across channels. APEX prioritizes user-safety with adequate security models. NewgenONE Marvin continues to innovate by transforming process & data management and customer engagement, driving operational excellence and business growth.”
What is in Apex?
There is little detail about what this release includes and Newgen had not shared any release notes prior to writing this article. The features that are known about include:
- Auto-classification and metadata pre-fill to automate document categorization
- Speech-to-text capabilities for more intuitive user interactions via voice commands
- Improvements to UI with natural language prompts powered by GenAI
Newgen already has a mature approach to security and, the APEX Edition addresses more of the safety concerns associated with integrating AI and GenAI enhancements. APEX now includes more sophisticated role-based access permissions to protect sensitive data and promote Responsible AI. The GenAI update introduces Llama Guard 3, first released in April this year. Llama Guard 3 builds on the capabilities introduced in Llama Guard 2, adding three new categories: Defamation, Elections, and Code Interpreter Abuse. APEX monitors user input and agent response across customizable risk categories. The release also includes Prompt Guard, a classifier model, to detect unsafe prompts.
Enterprise Times: What does this mean
Newgen Software continues to push the boundaries on what its low-code platform can achieve for enterprises. While it is disappointing that Newgen did not provide more details about what this release includes, it seems to have several steps forward on both its usability and security. Adding Llama Guard 3 so soon after its release is impressive, for example.
