Thredd, the global next-generation payments platform, has appointed Brian Kieley as Chief Client Officer. Kiely will lead the global client success organisation as the firm looks to expand across the UK, Europe, APAC and the US regions. Kieley brings deep experience in creating, managing and expanding client partnerships. This is an approach that Thredd already has success with. It recently announced a renewed partnership with Zilch, supporting the expansion of BNPL that Thredd has seen over the last year.
Jim McCarthy, CEO of Thredd, commented, “Brian has a long-standing reputation as a product, client relationship and operations leader within the payments industry. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Brian for many years, and he sets the standard for client support. His track record of increasing client satisfaction and driving payments programme success is truly unmatched.”
Who is Brian Kieley
Kieley joins from Worldpay, where he was SCP Operation and head of global client experience. He was previously SVP of program management at Marqeta. Where he was responsible for customer onboarding, card fulfilment, bank/partner management, payment network operations, financial reconciliation and settlement, risk and fraud operations, and production support. He joined Marqeta as head of payment operations.
Before Marqeta, he was Chief Operating Officer at Rev Worldwide leading the relationship with Visa and Mastercard. He also spent nine years at Visa, becoming SVCP and Global Head of Client Services, according to his LinkedIn profile.
His experience managing relationships with clients and financial institutions, as well as the operational experience he has gained, will be a welcome addition to Thredd.
Kieley commented, “The opportunity to join the Thredd team as they expand their business globally is exciting. It’s not often that you have the chance to jump on board with an organisation at such a key inflexion point. Thredd’s varied client base comprises businesses that are delivering real value in B2B payments, BNPL, cross-border payouts and digital banking to name a few. I’m looking forward to being a part of their growth journey.”
Enterprise Times: What does this mean
Kieley is already leveraging his global contacts for Thredd, as the company looks to expand worldwide. The company has 19 open positions (as of writing). The company is still expanding, nearly three years after its last funding round in October 2012, when it raised $400 million from Advent International, Viking, Temasek and MissioOG.
This appointment is just the latest that Thredd has announced. In May, Cindy Custers joined as VP of Network Partnerships & Money Movement. Yash Piplani was appointed as Head of Technical Product Management. Ryan Dew joined as Global Head of Product Solutions, and Amit Bhargava joined as Global Head of Issuer Solutions. In June, it also appointed Matt Swann as a non-executive director. Kiely brings 25 years of experience in the payments industry and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Carleton University.
