Redwood has celebrated its 30th year in business and its 20th in partnership with SAP for its automation fabric solutions. The company was also recognised again by SAP, winning the SAP Regional Partner Excellence Award and the prestigious SAP Pinnacle Award 2024 in the New Partner Application category. It also announced two new senior appointments that it has made in recent months.
The company is still growing strongly, adding a thousand customers in the last year. The customer base now includes 28% of the Fortune 500 and 40% of the Fortune 50. Customers include Arla, Epson and UBS.
Kevin Greene, CEO of Redwood Software, commented, “Redwood experienced tremendous growth in the first half of 2024, adding numerous leading global enterprises to our customer base and expanding the Redwood team to over 550 people worldwide. As a company that has consistently delivered above ‘Rule of 60’ financial performance, we are able to continuously invest in advancing our customer service and product innovation to deliver higher value for mission-critical business processes like order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, supply chain and warehouse management.”
The Appointments
Redwood has recently appointed two experienced leaders. In May, Charles Crouchman was appointed Chief Product Officer. Crouchman joins after taking a short career break after helping to grow 5 startups in the last 25 years, as well as working as an advisor to others and in enterprises such as IBM and CA Associates. He has a degree in mathematics from the University of Waterloo.
Crouchman takes on the role from Abhijit Kakhandiki, who is now Chief AI and Innovation Officer. This is a new role, which he describes it as “Multifaceted responsibilities encompassing strategic, technical, operational & ethical aspects of AI. Setting the vision for AI + Automation, including Generative AI across Redwood portfolio. Aligning AI initiatives with the organization’s broader business goals and objectives, pinpointing areas where AI can be leveraged to enhance products, services, or internal processes.
“Investing in necessary talent, technology, and infrastructure to support AI development & deployment. Implementing policies & practices across Redwood to ensure AI is used ethically & fairly.”
Rama Vadakattu also joined in May as SVP & Global Head of Professional Services. Prior to joining the company he was SVP, Ecosystem Solutions and Success at Celonis. He spent eight years at Infor in various leadership roles, and before Infor, he spent sixteen years at Oracle, rising from a consultant to senior Practice Director.
These appointments indicate the investment that Redwood is making, in strengthening its product leadership and customer services for its automation portfolio — RunMyJobs,
SAP relationship
The relationship is also going from strength to strength. In November 2023 RunMyJobs became part of SAP’s industry cloud portfolio for the utilities industry. In October 2023, it achieved certified integration with RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
Now, as part of SAP Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS), RunMyJobs by Redwood is the exclusive SaaS workload automation (WLA) and job scheduling solution. For which SAP offers a hosted connection to and from a customer’s RISE environment.
Late this year, SAP ECS will expand its managed service connection with RunMyJobs to offer SAP monitoring of critical jobs running within RunMyJobs. The new service will provide more in-depth monitoring, alerting and resolution for S/4HANA Cloud customers. Joint customers that can take advantage of this new functionality include Citigroup, UBS AG, Ryder Truck Rental and Texas Instruments.
Redwood also celebrates the 25th anniversary of its secure managed file transfer solution, JSCAPE. JSCAPE is integrated with all Redwood WLA Solutions, enabling customers to securely receive and process incoming data with RunMyJobs as soon as information becomes available.
Other product innovations this year have included additional pre-built connectors for RunMyJobs. Integrations include data management platforms such as Informatica, Databricks and Boomi. Enterprise applications include ServiceNow, SAP, and Oracle, and there are also integrations to ChatGPT, Amazon S3, Azure Synapse and Kubernetes.
Enterprise Times: What does this mean
Not only is Redwood adding new customers, product innovation and leaders, it is also looking after existing customers. It has achieved an NPS score of 48. It has been recognized by G2 in the Grid for Workload Automation (Summer 2024) as a leader and is also a momentum leader for Workload Automation.
Not only does Redwood appear to be growing, but it is also strengthening the organisation to continue that growth. With the SAP momentum for RISE with SAP, the future looks positive.
