Screendragon has announced the appointment of P Cory Hogan as its new CEO. He takes on the position from Co-Founders Jan Quant and John Briggs who held the role jointly. Briggs will remain CTO, Jan Quant as CFO.
Enterprise Times asked Screendragon about the reasons behind this appointment. They replied, “The rationale behind this strategic move is to bolster our executive team with additional leadership talent while enabling John and Jan to refocus on their core roles at Screendragon. John and Jan have been serving as Co-CEOs recently while also holding the positions of CTO and CFO respectively. They personally selected Cory to take on the role as CEO. Cory’s extensive 20-year experience in scaling SaaS organizations and his deep understanding of enterprise sales and marketing make him an ideal addition.
“Cory’s customer-centric approach will help us continue delivering enterprise-grade solutions in the era of AI. Furthermore, being US-based, Cory aligns perfectly with Screendragon’s strong growth in the American market and our goal to expand our operational presence there.
“Given the unprecedented growth Screendragon has experienced in recent years, it has become impractical for our C-suite executives to manage multiple roles effectively, hence this exciting appointment for the company.”
With Screendragon’s growth fueled by the recent $27 million funding from Kennet Partners and Federated Hermes, it is looking to expand into the US. Hogan will be based in Boston. Does this signal a shift of the power base from Eire, the company says not.
Hogan also joins the board, bringing more than twenty years of experience to the C-Suite team that also includes Briggs, Quant and Fergus Ashe, Chief Customer Officer. They are also supported by Clive Sirkin, Chairman, who is also based in the US and whom Enterprise Times recently spoke to about the company.
Screendragon Founder and CTO John Briggs, commented, “Our loyal customers, many with us decades, adore the unique Screendragon culture of passion and commitment. Cory is a wonderful complement to our team and will assuredly extend our success in both the US and abroad.”
Hogan will now steer the company through its growth in the US. He will capitalise on its investments in AI to power its platform. He will be supported by Screendragon’s new head of marketing, Anne Cogan, who joined the company in May.
Who is P Cory Hogan?
Hogan joins from SaaS vendor Lob, where he was Chief Revenue Officer. At Lob, he grew recurring revenue from $55 million to $130 million. He helped shift the company to profitability. Before Lob, he led the North America business unit at InMoment, scaling revenue from $50 million to $225 million as President in just over three years.
He also held sales leadership roles at Qualtrics and Oracle. Unusually, he is no stranger to startups. He founded and led Upscale for seven years before it was acquired in December 2007. That experience shows he has a breadth of experience from startup to enterprise, operating at a senior level.
Hogan commented, “Screendragon is an incredible company, deeply loved by many of the world’s leading agencies and brands. Joining was an easy decision. At this generational inflection point, the business is well positioned to further empower our world-wide customers to automate sophisticated plans and maximize precious resources using enterprise-grade, AI-powered solutions.”
Enterprise Times: What does it mean?
Hogan will now lead Screendragon forward. It aims to bring its award-winning SaaS technology to a wider audience in North America and beyond. The award-winning work management solution already has customers such as BP, Kelloggs, and Kimberley Clark. With such advocates already in place, it is no wonder that Hogan jumped at the opportunity. He has significantly increased revenue for SaaS companies several times in his career. His experience makes this a good appointment for Screendragon.
