Precisely has announced it has achieved Amazon Web Services (AWS) Data and Analytics Competency status. AWS Data and Analytics Competency Partners have demonstrated success in helping customers evaluate and use the tools and best practices for collecting, storing, governing, and analyzing data at any scale.
Precisely has achieved the status within three of the six categories: Data Integration and Preparation, Data Governance and Security and Consulting Services. The designation follows on from the Precisely announcement at AWS re: Invent that the Precisely Data Integrity Suite has achieved Amazon Redshift Service Ready certification.
Precisely are not yet listed for the Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Visualization category. Enterprise Times queried Precisely about this as it has products that could fit within this category. Eric Yau, Chief Operating Officer at Precisely, replied, “We’re currently working with AWS on ways to partner even more closely and look forward to sharing updates as the relationship continues to strengthen.”
This announcement further demonstrates the developing strength of the partnerships between the two companies. Precisely now has a total of six AWS-validated qualifications:
- AWS Competencies: Data & Analytics ISV Competency
- Partner Programs: AWS Marketplace Seller
- Partner Programs: AWS Public Sector Partner
- Partner Programs: AWS ISV Workload Migration
- AWS Service Validations: Amazon RDS Ready Product
- AWS Service Validations: Amazon Redshift Ready Product
Proof required and delivered
Competency needs proof, and Precisely has two case studies and several references linked from the AWS listing. They include Sky New Zealand who selected Precisely Connect with Change Data Capture (CDC) to transfer its legacy data to Snowflake and stage their data in Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3).
Quintin McKenzie, Head of Corporate Core at Sky New Zealand, commented, “We needed a tool that would not only take the data out of the IBM i systems and push it into Snowflake but also, if possible, do that in near real-time without us having to build anything,”
The project faced other challenges that further complicated the effort. These included the short timeframe for implementing a solution and the complexity of working with a high-availability architecture. McKenzie added, “We soon determined that Connect was doing exactly what it said on the box. It was working as designed.”
The status recognised the critical role of data integrity in fueling advanced analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence with trustworthy outcomes. Yau commented, “Businesses are facing increasing pressure to deliver advanced analytics, leverage AI programmes, and keep up with customer demand for up-to-the-minute insights. Ultimately, organisations realise that these strategic goals can only be achieved through a robust data integrity strategy – allowing access to trusted data as close to real-time as possible.”
Enterprise Times asked Yau what difference achieving AWS Data and Analytics Competency status will mean for the company in 2024.
He replied, “By becoming an AWS Data and Analytics Competency Partner, Precisely joins a select list of companies that have demonstrated they can help customers get the most out of their AWS services. Customers looking to build the integrity of their data stored on AWS can be confident in our expertise and that we exceed the high benchmark set by their team. As a business, the status also allows us to partner with AWS on an even greater range of partnership activities.”
Enterprise Times: What does this mean
Gaining the competency is not straightforward. Enterprise Times asked what it involved, Yau replied, “There are several criteria that companies are expected to meet. Ranging from specific product capabilities to the ability to provide seamless AWS integration, meeting AWS security requirements, and more.”
Customers can now look at the Precisely Data Integrity Suite as a platform. That delivers the tools necessary to deliver accuracy, consistency, and location-based context to data stored on AWS. They should also recognise that Precisely has the expertise to help deploy the AWS systems required, troubleshoot issues, and extract the maximum value from their data.
