Professional Services Image by Gerd Altmann from PixabayLast week, perhaps with the follow on from Cyber Monday, Black Friday and Thanksgiving, there was very little in the way of news from the PSA, PPM and Work Management vendors. Planview, perhaps because of AWS re:Invent, announced that it now has five applications listed on the AWS marketplace.

As Louise K. Allen, Chief Product Officer, Planview, stated, “By making our solutions available in AWS Marketplace, we’re able to bring the power of Planview to AWS customers, helping them to navigate these demands with even greater agility and efficiency.”

Other news last week came from Cora Systems.

Cora Systems

Headquartered in Carrick-On Shannon, Cora Systems, a vendor offering enterprise portfolio, program, and project management (PPM) solutions, announced the opening of a new Dublin office. The new office is in addition to its offices in Carrick-on-Shannon, Bedford in England and Atlanta in the US.

What isn’t clear from the announcement is why Cora Systems has chosen to open an office in the heart of the capital. The most obvious reason is its proximity to clients that are also based in the city. Carrick-on-Shannon is the county town of County Leitrim and has just under 5,000 in population. Located in the north west of Eire, it presumably has only a few local clients based there.

Neale Richmond TD, Minister of State for Business, Employment and Retail, who opened the new office, said, “Over the past number of years, Ireland has become a global digital technology hub – and pioneering Irish innovators like Cora Systems have played a pivotal and transformative role in the sector. Global leaders are increasingly turning to Irish-owned enterprises for solutions, as their innovative offerings, talent, and cutting-edge services are trusted around the world.

“As a result, we have seen the development of innovative, talented, and disruptive Irish-owned digital technology companies, and Cora Systems exemplifies this.

“Today’s opening is a great boost not just for Dublin but also for the North-West region where their HQ is based, connecting both to the global stage. The expansion paves the way for Cora Systems to grow its highly innovative business and to significantly scale its activities. I wish Philip and team all the best for what is sure to be a very exciting future.”

Philip Martin, Founder and CEO of Cora Systems, commented, “Cora’s sense of place will always reside in Carrick-on-Shannon however, our Dublin office will act as a fantastic addition to support our growth ambitions.”
