Infosys collaborates with STARK Group to support digital transformation

Infosys a provider of next-generation digital services and consulting, has announced a strategic multi-year collaboration with STARK Group. The company is one of Europe’s largest retailers and distributor of building materials. The partnership aims to support its digital transformation journey by leveraging Infosys Topaz, an AI-first set of services, solutions and platforms. The solution uses generative AI technologies. As part of this collaboration, Infosys and STARK Group will establish a state-of-the-art data centre in Denmark, which will serve as the foundation to drive technological advancements and provide seamless services to STARK Group’s offices across Europe.

Infosys will adopt an ‘AI first’ approach powered by Infosys Topaz, to empower STARK Group with AI-driven operational efficiencies and service quality. Additionally, Infosys will utilise its Live Enterprise Application Management Platform (LEAP), a cloud-enabled platform, to provide NextGen Application Management Services and part of Infosys Cobalt and help drive automation in STARK Group’s IT landscape with an objective to continuously improve and innovate their IT operations. Infosys will further aim to enable STARK Group to improve cost and operation efficiency and help them scale across multiple geographies.

Recently, Infosys announced a strategic collaboration with Danske Bank to power the bank’s digital transformation, which further enhanced Infosys’ localization strategy in the Nordics. Earlier, Infosys had acquired BASE Life Science in Denmark and Fluido in Finland. This relationship with STARK Group further signifies Infosys’ increasing prominence in the Nordics region and exemplifies its commitment to helping clients in the region accelerate their digital transformation.

Shopify launches POS hardware to sales for UKI retailers

Shopify has launched POS Go in the UK and Ireland. As an all-in-one Point of Sale (POS) mobile selling device, it enables retailers—of any size—to deliver new in-person shopping experiences and seamlessly close sales anywhere within their brick-and-mortar stores, all across the country.

POS Go gives retailers everything they need out of the box by providing them with the power to sell in person, backed by the power to sell online. POS Go also builds on the success of Shopify POS: Shopify POS merchants with over 20 locations saw their Q2 GMV grow over 120% year-on-year, with more than 70% of their GMV coming through Shopify Payments.

Using POS Go, merchants can:

  • Close a sale anywhere:
    – A built-in barcode scanner lets merchants start checkouts anywhere in store.
    – Through Shopify POS, retailers can view detailed product information, customer notes and purchase history to level up the in-store experience.

    – Merchants can accept tap, swipe, and chip cards through a built-in, fully integrated card reader.
    – Wi-Fi and Shopify Payments keep every transaction smooth and secure.
  • Stay on top of their business everywhere:
    – Because Shopify gives merchants a unified view of their business, they can see sales, analytics, and inventory on POS Go from every channel.
    – If they make an update in the Shopify admin, everything automatically syncs across their business.

Marketplacer helps FINN give refurbished electronics a second life

Marketplacer has announced that one of the most well-known brands in Norway – FINN – is experiencing record growth on its new Marketplacer-powered eCommerce site for used smartphones and accessories, FINN Nybrukt.

Based in Oslo, Norway, FINN is the country’s largest online marketplace, allowing consumers to purchase anything from cars to houses to general merchandise. In February 2023, the company expanded these offerings with the launch of FINN Nybrukt, a new eCommerce marketplace for used smartphones and accessories, where buyers can choose from a variety of pre-owned, refurbished phones, and sellers can help their used phones find a second “life” and avoid the landfill, which is a key mission for FINN.

Essentially functioning as a boot-strapping startup within the larger Schibstead family of brands, the team at FINN considered building an eCommerce platform on its own. Instead, the team decided that its business objectives would be better served by choosing a technology partner that it could collaborate with to meet its business objectives.
