Dext has appointed Emily Westgate as Chief Marketing Officer. Westgate has over 20 years in high growth and corporate environment. She was previously CMO at Signal AI. She joined as Vice president of Marketing in 2019 and was promoted to CMO in April 2022. Before that, she held marketing leadership roles at Criteo and spent a decade at Primavera and Oracle after the former was acquired.
At Signal AI, she helped drive the messaging and growth of the external intelligence company. Part of that messaging tied brand reputation to business performance. It will be interesting to see how she helps to develop both the brand reputation and potentially the CEO’s reputation to further enhance the business performance. Firm performance is positively related to the CEO’s reputation (Milbourn, 2003; et al., 2015).
Sabby Gill, CEO of Dext, said: “As Dext continues to grow across the accounting and SME space, a robust marketing strategy is essential. Machine learning, AI and emerging technologies are a core part of our product strategy, so it’s a pivotal time for Emily to be joining us. We welcome Emily’s expertise in transformative marketing strategies, especially as we enter our next phase of growth.”
Westgate helps further power up the leadership team.
Westgate is just the latest appointment by Gill, who joined as CEO in October 2022. In March, Dext appointed Stephen Edginton as Chief Product and Technology Officer. Gill is building a team to help spur the company’s growth for its pre-accounting software suite, both in product and marketing. As the company embeds AI capabilities into its platform, Westgate’s experience at Signal AI may help the messaging.
Emily Westgate added: “Dext’s potential is immense – from its people to its technology – and I’m looking forward to joining the team at a time when AI is continuing to shape the technology landscape.
“I’m especially looking forward to working closely with our customers and leading the way for Dext to connect with accountants, bookkeepers and SMEs across the globe. It’s a privilege to be joining such an innovative team and I know that together we’ll be able to scale the company to new heights.”
Enterprise Times: What does this mean
Gill is building an experienced team with Edgington looking to develop the Product portfolio. He will need to work closely with Westgate as she prepares the marketing campaigns. Westgate will also work alongside Al Newman, Chief Revenue Officer, and it will be interesting to see how the messaging evolves in the coming months.
