O’Neill will lead all the marketing functions, including corporate, product, field, partner, and customer marketing. Her task is to extend the reach of marketing across the entire customer lifecycle. That means coordinating efforts across marketing, go-to-market, product, and engineering teams. This should also include the customer success teams at the vendor, though this is not called out in the announcement.

O’Neill joins from Sitecore, where she led the Marketing team, doubling the team to 100 staff as the firm grew. That growth included rebranding to a modern, compelling, marketing-focused brand. She led the marketing efforts across product, partner, corporate, customer, demand generation, field marketing, events, sitecore.com, marketing operations, and AR/PR.

Before Sitecore, O’Neill held CMO and senior marketing roles at Prysm Inc, SDL, Aravo, Greenroad Technologies and PHH. She began her marketing leadership roles at Oracle, moving from public relations to marketing leadership over a 9-year career at the global tech giant.

Altogether she brings thirty years of experience to Seismic and has been recognised with several awards in her long career, including the OnCon Icon Award for Top 100 Marketers (Jan 2020), TopRank Marketing’s 50 Female CMOs who Rock (Dec. 2019), and B2B Magazine Top 20 Female Tech Marketers Making an Impact in the Industry (March 2019).

Doug Winter, cofounder and CEO of Seismic, commented,  “In our search for a new CMO, Paige stood out for her wide breadth and depth of tech marketing experience, her executive presence, and her passion for growing and building strong teams. I’m looking forward to seeing how she works hand-in-hand with our revenue and product leaders to help Seismic continue delivering exceptional products and services to our customers.”

O’Neill commented, “Seismic is at an exciting stage in an exciting space. As a CMO, I’m intimately aware of the value of enablement programs and technology for modern go-to-market teams. Great companies have stellar products, people, and customers – and Seismic has all three. I’m keen to get started, meet the team, and work with our customers and partners to drive value.”

Enterprise Times: What does this mean

O’Neill’s appointment follows on from that of Toby Carrington as Chief Business Officer. Carrington will be responsible for leading all strategic and operational aspects of Seismic, focusing on igniting growth across the organization.

O’Neill is an experienced hire with the depth of experience that should help Seismic globally. One thing that seems unlikely is a rebranding exercise, as Seismic only completed a rebrand in 2022 following the launch of the Seismic Enablement Cloud. Importantly O’Neill increases the gender diversity on the leadership team.

It seems to have been a while since Seismic had a CMO, with Kyle Lacy leading marketing as SVP, who joined from the Lessonly acquisition, where he held the role of CMO. Before that, Michael Londgren held the role of CMO between 2019 and 2021, though he has acted as an advisor since, though with the appointment of Paige, that role may now end.
