Configit has appointed Damantha Boteju as Chief Product and Technology officer. The appointment sees him combine two roles at the Configuration Lifecycle Management (CLM) vendor. Søren Tange left the company in December 2022, having served as Chief Product Officer for the last six years. The previous Chief Technology Officer was Henrik Hulgaard, a co-founder who stepped into the role of Vice President of Product Management after over 20 years as CTO. He will oversee the organisation’s product development strategy in the newly created joint role.
Before joining Configit, Boteju was CTO at Forecast, a Danish scale-up focused on delivering an AI-Native Platform for Financial, Resource & Project Management. He was also Chief Product and Technology Officer at Edlund A/S, a leading Scandinavian Life and Pension software provider. Before Edlund, he was Technology Director at KMD and spent eleven years at Avaleo, six of which were as CTO.
Configit continues to solve complex configuration issues for customers with its CLM platform. Boteju will bring new insights into the product innovation process to accelerate innovation.
Johan Salenstedt, CEO of Configit, commented, “Damantha brings a wealth of experience to lead Configit’s product strategy. His expertise will ensure we’re giving our customers best-in-class service and enabling them to sharpen their competitive edge by aligning all systems and business processes for true, accurate and complete configurations.”
Damantha Boteju, CPTO, Configit, commented, “Configit solves a very complicated problem in the manufacturing space in a truly innovative way. I’m committed to seeing that Configit’s solutions allow all products to be tailored exactly to fit the needs of any customer. We are making a global impact on the product configuration market.”
Enterprise Times: What does this mean
There are two pieces of significance in this announcement. It sees Hulgaard step aside from a role he has held for over twenty years, in which he will report to Boteju. It will be interesting to see how that dynamic works. However, that Hulgaard stays in the organisation is positive for Configit as it gives the firm a continuity that it may not have otherwise.
Having led the innovative Forecast strategy over the last few years, it will be interesting to see how he evolves and helps Configit move its product forward. Forecast has not yet named a replacement.
