eCommerce Cards Image by mohamed Hassan from PixabayForter has announced that it has forged a new partnership with Wix. Wix enables organisations to design, create and manage a website for their business. The Wix platform includes over 900 free templates. It includes eCommerce options that enable organisations to sell products and services from their site.

The partnership will enable Wix merchants to leverage the Forter fraud prevention solution, enabling transactions to verify customers seamlessly and rapidly to reduce fraudulent transactions. The Forter Trust platform will only be available in certain countries. In which countries Wix customers will be able to leverage Forter is unclear.

Omer Shatzky, head of risk and fintech, at Wix, commented, “Empowering our users to grow their businesses seamlessly and securely is a top priority for us. Our partnership with Forter allows merchants to focus on growing their business instead of managing fraud or false declines. We’re looking forward to seeing the continued business impact our partnership drives for merchants around the world.”

Why this matters for your website

Forter is one of the leaders in the eCommerce fraud prevention market. In 2022 more than $300 billion of transactions passed through its decision-making platform. It already has over 200,000 merchants leveraging the solution, including global fashion and beauty firms such as ASOS, Nordstrom and PACSUN. It also provides services to firms in other industries, such as electronics, food & beverage, home & garden and travel.

Now, Wix merchants can benefit from two key benefits:

  • Maximize approval rates with industry-leading accuracy: Forter’s identity-based decision engine utilizes the largest network of online retailers so that Wix users can maximize conversions and minimize chargebacks with a frictionless customer experience.
  • Reduce Fraud Rate: Forter enables Wix to manage the transaction and merchant risk much better, providing Wix users with better fraud protection.

Michael Reitblat, co-founder and CEO of Forter, commented, “Wix brings fast, reliable and secure digital commerce infrastructure to merchants at every stage of growth. Our shared commitment of delivering superior customer experience and driving meaningful business results made the integration an obvious choice. We’re looking forward to fighting fraud and growing revenue with Wix.”

Enterprise Times: What does this mean

While this is good news for Wix eCommerce customers and Forter, there is currently little mention of Forter on the Wix website and how customers can take advantage of the new service. However, the press release does state that the “partnership is live and will be rolled out more widely over the coming months.” What has happened is that Wix has changed its terms and conditions to indicate that payments to Wix may pass through the Forter fraud platform. It indicates that Wix is also a customer of Forter and a partner. It likes the product itself enough to use it.

Hopefully, customers will soon be able to add Forter to their eCommerce transactions, though there is no indication of how this will be charged or recharged by Wix. Will customers have a direct relationship with Forter, or has Wix struck a deal with Forter?

For Forter, not only has it gained access to a massive customer base, but it will also gain access to its transactions. Wix currently has around 238 million registered users (as of Sept 2022).
