Ahead of the Epicor Insights for Building Supply customer conference has announced updates to its solutions Epicor BisTrack and Epicor LumberTrack. The conference takes place at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Ariz, between November 14-16. At the event, the attendees will learn more about the updates to these two leading industry solutions and the Epicor Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Lisa Pope, Epicor President, commented, “Like many essential industries, the future of the building supply market will be shaped by how dealers are able to leverage data-driven insights and create people-centric automations to navigate changing market conditions and drive their businesses forward. Epicor is delivering that future today, offering the capabilities our customers need to better manage supply chains, inventories, and their workforce.”
Epicor is the leading software provider in the building supply industry. It boasts 60% of the pro-dealers rely on Epicor software and has 99% retention within the LBM industry. The reason for such high retention was highlighted in a recent IDC White Paper, sponsored by Epicor, “The Business Value of Epicor Software for Building Supply Companies.” This highlighted that organisations using Epicor software had realized benefits worth an annual average of $2.7 million per organization. These benefits were gained through enhanced enterprise visibility, stronger inventory management, improved financial management, and ultimately higher revenues and margins.
What are the updates
Epicor promises to unveil new solutions and enhancements. The information within the press release is scarce, but it highlighted the following.
- A new public cloud offering for both Epicor BisTrack and Epicor LumberTrack. For BisTrack, this will be a next-generation solution that promises a stronger user experience, improved workflows, and enhanced scalability, performance, and data localization. BisTrack Cloud has been around since 2018. LumberTrack Cloud appears to be new.
- There are functional improvements for distributors, which include long lead allocations, multi-location transfers, and split transfers.
- Epicor WMS has improved the integrations to Epicor BisTrack. The integration now supports variable-width products. WMS has also seen improvements to mobile delivery cart scanning and an improved mobile device UX.
- Epicor LumberTrack has adopted some of the UX design principles of Kinetic. Epicor has enhanced the browser functionality making it a responsive design for different mobiles and introducing dynamic forms.
- Epicor will also demonstrate a new order monitor and order entry functionality in Epicor BisTrack Web.
Enterprise Times: What does this mean
Disappointingly, there is a shortage of detail within the press release. The new cloud versions of BisTrack and LumberTrack are intriguing. The likelihood is that they are built on the same platform as Kinetic and, therefore, will offer the same extensibility to other Epicor modules and solutions. This could be very good news for customers.
