The company has appointed Matt Wolf as Senior Vice President of Global Alliances. This new role indicates the emphasis that Stephans is putting on growing the partner ecosystem as he looks to accelerate growth following the investment by Gryphon Investors in August.

Wolf will be responsible for growing the relationships with Salesforce, technology partners such as Workday and ComplianceQuest, system integrators such as Nagarro, and its channel and referral partners. He is well suited for this role, after experience gained at Sightcall, ClickSoftware and Salesforce.

David Stephans, CEO of Rootstock Software, commented, “We’re fortunate to have the opportunity to add someone of Matt’s caliber to our team. He has more than 14 years of experience in working with the Salesforce ecosystem, and over 20 years of experience in building mutually beneficial partner relationships worldwide, so he brings highly desirable leadership skills to our company. Matt will immediately begin work to further strengthen our relationship with Salesforce and to expand our network of SI partners. These efforts are expected to rapidly drive Rootstock’s business development and growth.”

The Wolf returns to the Salesforce ecosystem

Wolf was previously the Senior Vice President, Global Alliances at SightCall. While SightCall integrated its visual support platform into Salesforce, it did not use the Force.com platform. He was successful there, exceeding targets for growing the company’s global alliance network and deepening the relationship with SAP.

Before SightCall, he worked at ClickSoftware, managing strategic alliances and helping to grow one of the most successful ISVs in the Salesforce ecosystem before its acquisition by Salesforce. Wolf worked closely with Salesforce, while at Click, on the Field Service Lightning product, which was partly responsible for the acquisition. He moved to Click from Salesforce itself and worked within the ISV ecosystem. Before Salesforce, he spent eleven years at Sun Microsystems, responsible for the partner marketing strategy with Microsoft and VMware worldwide.

Wolf commented, “I’m excited to be joining Rootstock. As the best-in-class manufacturing ERP on the Salesforce Platform, Rootstock is on the precipice of great things. Within the Salesforce partner program, Rootstock has garnered recognition as a Summit Partner—the highest tier a partner can achieve. And the investments from Gryphon Investors and Salesforce Ventures speak to Rootstock’s momentum in the ERP market and its value within the Salesforce ecosystem, particularly for the Salesforce Manufacturing, Automation, and Energy (MAE) division.”

Enterprise Times: What does this mean

Stephans means business, and in Wolf, he has someone he believes has the relationships within the Salesforce ecosystem to rapidly expand the partner network. Changes are afoot at Rootstock, and will Wolf evolve the partner ecosystem in the coming months? Rootstock currently lists nine partners in North America, ten in EMEA and nine in APAC. It will be interesting to see how those numbers grow and evolve in the coming months.
