Epicor has acquired professional services assets from Evron Computer Systems, a Canadian IT services provider. It means that Epicor immediately has available knowledgeable and dedicated Epicor Consulting. This will end the relationship between Epicor and Evron, which has existed since 1991.
The Evron team has experience in delivering Epicor Kinetic, Epicor 11, Epicor 10, Epicor 9, Vantage, Enterprise 7, Profit 21, and Clientele to its customer base. That expertise is now part of Epicor, though neither party revealed the number of consultants that would join Epicor. Also, it isn’t clear whether the Epicor hosting services that Evron also provides will now come under the management of Epicor.
The Evron website says it has more than 56 expert staff, but it still retains experts for its other services, including Acumatica, Sage, Spike and other IT-managed services. How many of these people have moved across is unclear, and several have not yet updated their LinkedIn profiles. They increase the size of the Epicor team in Canada, which is already more than 200. Those consultants may include Errol Knight, a senior consultant at Evron who is certified on Epicor Kinetic and solutions for manufacturing and distribution. This kind of experience will be invaluable to Epicor and its customers in Canada.
Epicor CEO Steve Murphy commented, “We’re very excited to welcome Evron’s Epicor practice to Epicor. The combination of Evron’s highly skilled Epicor experts with the broader resources of the Epicor product, professional services, and customer care teams will bring a depth of experience and know-how to help our customers continue to succeed.”
Enterprise Times What does this mean
While Epicor may have lost a partner in Evron, this deal may make sense for both companies. Evron may wish to shift its focus away from Epicor and towards more generic IT services that deliver more consistent revenues, or it may want to extend its relationship with Acumatica, for whom it is a gold partner. For Epicor, it has extracted a core team of knowledgeable consultants, some of which are certified to implement its solutions.
