Deltek has completed the acquisition of its MES technology partner TIP Technologies it first announced in July. The acquisition sees it add the quality, compliance and manufacturing execution solutions for the highly regulated aerospace and defence (A&D) and government contracting industry. TIP Technologies is a long-term partner of Deltek, and integrations already exist between the two solutions. Looking forward, it means that Deltek will own the product roadmap and can deliver synergistic advances across its platforms for the A&D and GovCon industries.

Mike Miller, founder and CEO of TIP Technologies, commented: “Joining forces with Deltek is a strategic milestone for TIP Technologies, and we look forward to seeing how our businesses and solutions can progress together. We are thrilled to now be a part of Deltek and I want to thank all our TIP Technologies employees and all the parties involved that helped us complete this acquisition.”

Miller and his entire team will join the Deltek workforce, further strengthening its grip on both industries. Mike Corkery, president and CEO at Deltek, commented: “Having already partnered with TIP Technologies for years, we are confident that the team’s knowledge and strength in complex manufacturing is the perfect complement to Deltek’s government contracting solutions. Together with TIP Technologies, we now offer the most complete integrated ERP, QMS and MES solutions for government contractors to meet strict federal government compliance requirements. We are thrilled to begin this journey together with the TIP Technologies team now officially part of Deltek. While Deltek is excited to add TIP Technologies to its existing portfolio of purpose-built solutions for government contractors, we do remain committed to supporting the needs of the A&D firms using third-party ERP solutions.”

Deltek is holding its annual conference in person for the first time since the pandemic’s start. At ProjectCon, customers and prospects can see the Tip Technologies solution alongside Deltek. Tip Technology solutions will feature in both sessions and demonstrations at the event.

Enterprise Times: What does this mean

While Miller is not featured as one of the main speakers, it will be surprising if Corkery does not introduce him and TIP Technologies during one of the keynotes. This is an important acquisition by Deltek and strengthens its platform significantly, especially in the A&D space, where it may be able to push slightly further upmarket with a complete platform solution for manufacturers.

What will be interesting is whether the company will share any roadmap plans for this new suite of solutions. Existing customers will be eager to hear about further investment in the roadmap and what this acquisition means.
