SIEM and SOAR are two of the key technologies in use across cybersecurity. Both have been around for a while now, so what can we expect as they evolve? That is the question we put to Jesper Zerlang, CEO of Logpoint, in our latest podcast.
Logpoint is a European cybersecurity company that has found its European credentials give it an interesting insight into the culture of European companies. That culture is a key element in cybersecurity and is often overlooked. Understanding it helps to educate people and companies on what they need to do.
Zerlang believes that the security industry needs to evolve and change. One solution is greater automation. Another is being relevant to businesses. He said: “We as a vendor have to provide solutions. The customers don’t really care whether it’s Logpoint or another vendor. They care about relevance to support their own business. And they want just as you buy electricity or lights it’s a flip of a switch, you need to buy security as a service, so you feel comfortable that you are protected when you are being breached.”
The problem is that security has never been sold as a utility. Zerlang believes that is a change that has to occur. We no longer have clearly defined boundaries, so security software has to adapt to that.
Zerlang also talks about the benefits of AI if it is done right and the need to control costs. To hear what else he had to say, listen to the podcast
