DocuSign eSignature for Slack.Customers using both DocuSign CLM and Slack will be pleased to read that they have released an integration between the two solutions. The integration is available on the Slack App Directory. While DocuSign told Enterprise Times that the solution is free, paid plans are available, but no information is available in the Directory.

This latest integration between the two company’s solutions adds to the one that already exists for  DocuSign eSignature for Slack. This latest solution connects the contract processing tasks with Slack. It enables organisations to leverage Slack for approval processes so that people can continue working in Slack without switching applications.

Jerome Levadoux, Chief Product Officer at DocuSign commented: “Through our unique partnership with Salesforce and Slack, we’re ensuring businesses can utilize robust features and capabilities to further their digital transformation.

“With our latest release of DocuSign CLM for Slack, businesses and users can now move agreements forward and conduct business more quickly and efficiently in today’s Anywhere Economy.”

The new solution brings together two leaders in their sectors. It will enable users to work within their application of choice. As contracts are initiated and tasks assigned, these assignments can now be passed directly to stakeholders within Slack. This notification allows them to review agreements, including revisions, complete tasks, approve edits or make changes from within Slack.

Users can also generate and send documents from Slack, initiating the contract process. They can also add additional comments, reply to existing comments or resolve comments on clauses within Slack.

Finally, when the documents are ready for signing, the platform seamlessly integrates with the DocuSign eSignature platform.

Steve Wood, SVP of Product, Platform at Slack, commented: “This new integration further strengthens our partnership DocuSign and will provide users with the tools they need to get work done more efficiently. By integrating DocuSign’s CLM with Slack, users can now easily take meaningful actions on every phase of an agreement process right from their digital HQ, allowing businesses to do more with what they already have.”

Enterprise Times: What does this mean

The fact that this solution is free will please customers of the solutions. It also means that those already using Slack will note that when looking for a CLM solution, DocuSign will have an advantage over some other solutions. DocuSign appears to be the only CLM platform available on the Slack Marketplace.

How will DocuSign develop this integration, and how many customers will take advantage of it? The Slack Marketplace does not have a reviews section. Interestingly, while this is a joint announcement by both companies, Slack only carries out what it says is “a brief review of apps in our App Directory and does not endorse or certify these apps.” It will be interesting to see what changes happen under the ownership of Salesforce. Salesforce has a more rigorous acceptance process before apps are listed on the Salesforce AppExchange.
