These included Alteryx, Appian, Ceridian, Freshworks, Global Payments, HubSpot and Teradata. With inflation rising, there are growing concerns around companies running with losses. It will be interesting to see how investment attitudes change over the next few quarters.

In product news, insight software announced version 7 of Logi Composer, its embedded analytics solution. Reputation launched its first connector for Microsoft Dynamics 365 for the healthcare sector. monday.com launched monday CRM, targetting SME businesses and expanding its Work OS platform to new sectors.

Salesforce signed a memorandum of understanding with the Crown Commercial Service. It will hope to extend its share of the UK public sector business.

Pick of the week

Jussi Karttila, CEO of Zefort, published a business update for the contract management vendor. He wrote about the new senior hires of Richard Löfgreen as the Country Manager for Norway and Sweden, Heikki Sivonen as Zefort’s Chief Marketing Officer, and Ilkka Ventus became Zefort’s Chief Business Officer. The company also attained €1 million ARR. It also saw improvements to its product with the launch of Zefort Sign eSigning.

As for the future, Karttila added: “Going forward, we will soon strengthen our development team with several senior experts. We have exciting new releases lined up in our product roadmap. We’re looking forward to releasing news on new deals and welcoming more and more international customers.”

Acquisitions

Global Payments has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire EVO Payments for $4.0 billion.

Laiye announced its acquisition of Intelligence Qubic, an evolutionary automatic machine learning (AutoML) company.

UiPath announced it has acquired Re:infer, a London-based natural language processing (NLP) company for unstructured documents and communications.

Appointments

Alteryx appointed Doniel Sutton as Chief People Officer.

BMC has appointed Martyn Etherington as senior vice president and chief marketing officer (CMO).

Kaseya announced the promotion of Dan Tomaszewski to Executive Vice President of the Channel.

FD Technologies announced the appointment of Ashok Reddy as Chief Executive Officer of KX, reporting directly to Group CEO Seamus Keating.

Pega announced the appointment of Dr Kikelomo (Dayo) Belizaire as its first chief medical officer.

Sisense has appointed Ariel Katz as Chief Products and Technology Officer and General Manager (GM) of Israel.

Business

EPM Global Pte Ltd has become a channel partner of OneStream targeting customers in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Phocas announced it is now B Corp Certified. It is one of more than 400 companies in Australia and approximately 5100 companies worldwide to have this certification.

ServiceNow Australia has committed to training 1,000 people in digital skills by the end of 2022. To help meet the target, it has launched a free, 40‑hour per week, 9‑week digital boot camp with 100 places starting in August.

Financial Reports

Alteryx announced financial results for its second quarter ended June 30, 2022. ARR rose 33% to $727 million. Total revenue grew 50% year over year to $180.6 million. Net losses rose to $95.9 million, compared to $35 million a year ago. Mark Anderson, CEO of Alteryx Inc, commented, “Alteryx delivered an outstanding quarter with ARR growth of 33% year-over-year, driven by our continued success with large enterprise organizations.

“We are seeing business leaders increasingly prioritize democratization of data as part of their digital transformation journeys. Alteryx is uniquely positioned to enable businesses to automate workflows, upskill workforces, and embrace advanced data analytics. And, with an expanding platform of cloud offerings, Alteryx is finding new ways to create incremental value for our growing customer base.”

Appian announced financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2022. Cloud subscription revenue increased 34% year-over-year to $57.1 million. Total revenue was $110.1 million, up 33% compared to the second quarter of 2021. GAAP operating loss was $(42.7) million, compared to $(24.6) million for the second quarter of 2021.

Ceridian reported Q2 2022 results, with total revenue rising 20.3% year over year to $301.2 million. Dayforce recurring revenues grew 28% year over year. David Ossip, Chair and co-CEO of Ceridian, commented: “In the second quarter, we continued to execute well against both our growth and profitability objectives, as driven by the growth of Dayforce recurring revenue and continued expansion of cloud recurring gross margin.”

Freshworks reported Q2 2022 revenues grew 37% year over year to $121.4 million. Net revenue retention reached 111%. Girish Mathrubootham, CEO and founder of Freshworks, commented: “We delivered a solid second quarter of results with 40% year over year revenue growth on a constant currency basis. In a changing macro environment, I’m confident that our products will continue to provide incredible value to our customers around the world and drive our long term growth.”

Global Payments announced Q2 2022 results. GAAP revenues were $2.28 billion, compared to $2.14 billion in the second quarter of 2021.

HubSpot announced financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2022. Total revenue was $421.8 million, up 36% compared to Q2’21. Subscription revenue was $412.4 million, up 37% compared to Q2’21.

Teradata reported its Q2 results. Revenue decreased 8% year over year to $345 million. However, public cloud ARR rose 68% to $234 million. Steve McMillan, President and CEO of Teradata, commented: “Teradata delivered strong Cloud ARR growth, triple-digit free cash flow, and non-GAAP EPS that exceeded the high-end of our quarterly outlook, demonstrating the resiliency of our business.

“I am proud of the Teradata team’s execution and am confident in continuing to drive profitability and free cash flow, as we reaffirm our guidance. We also have powerful new technology being unveiled soon that increases benefits to our customers, expands our total addressable market, and extends our multi-cloud data and analytics platform leadership.”

Product

ManageEngine announced that its IT analytics product, Analytics Plus, is now available as a SaaS offering, enabling users to set up a fully functional, integrated analytics platform in under 60 seconds.

UiPath has expanded its integrations with Box, adding Box Sign to make it easy for users and teams to automate content collection, routing, distribution, and document e-signature processes.
