This is Charles Brett’s start-of-the-week Enterprise Times ‘blockchain catch-up’ 2022-Week 30. Necessarily it is idiosyncratic and selective.
It is not intended to be comprehensive but does seek to highlight ‘Quick Takes’ on specific developments as well interesting pieces to read, a listing of some (not all) announcements/press releases and pointers to upcoming events.
Quick Take(s) – Charles Brett’s Blockchain Catch-up 2022-Week 30
Energy Web and Volkswagen deliver 24/7 renewable energy charging solution for electric vehicles
Electric vehicles are cleaner than ICE ones. Until now, there was no guarantee that electricity comes from a renewable source. That is about to change. For those who wish to be sure of a clean source, VW and the Energy Web blockchain are partnering to deliver a smart charging solution.
Quick Take: While an insurance industry blockchain may not be progressing (see ‘Major insurers pull the plug on B3i insurance blockchain consortium’ below), this Energy Web/VW tie-up shows promise, both for EV owners and a real-life blockchain implementation.
