Rootstock has had its software certified that it meets the IDW-PS-880 auditing standard. The standard relates to the “Testing of software products” as laid down by the Instituts der Wirtschaftsprüfer (IDW) (Institute of Public Auditors). This is a key step for Rootstock to successfully sell its Manufacturing ERP. The certification was conducted by Mazars, the global audit, accounting and consulting group.

Rootstock ERP also complies with other German certifications including the following German commercial code principles:

  • 238 Accounting obligation
  • 239 Management of the trading books
  • 257 Retention of documents

It also complies with the relevant regulations of the German Fiscal code including

  • IDW RS FAIT 1
  • IDW RS FAIT 3

Per Norling, Rootstock Software general manager, international commented, “In order to meet the high-quality requirements of our customers, we have had our Cloud ERP certified by the consulting firm Mazars according to IDW-PS-880. The high quality of our internal organization and our approach to software development is regularly proven by external audits.”

“To this end, the auditor tests the necessary processing functions (document, journal and account functions), software security and documentation. In parallel, criteria to be defined by Rootstock Software itself are examined. If the software meets the requirements, this is confirmed by the IDW after the audit in the form of a corresponding software certificate.”

Enterprise Times: What does this mean

This is a key step for Rootstock to sell its finance module within Germany. It will specifically help its partners located in the region, Eigenherd and Nagarro. Localising the product for each country in Europe takes time. Having the certification carried out by an independent auditor should give comfort to prospects that the Rootstock software will pass audits and is fit for purpose.

Rootstock ERP is available now. For Manufacturers already using Salesforce software, it delivers not only the functionality that manufacturers expect, but it also does so on the Salesforce platform that delivers other advantages.
