Epicor has forged a strategic independent software vendor (ISV) partnership with SecturaSOFT. SecturaSoft’s SecturaFAB provides estimating and quoting software for sheet metal manufacturers. Based on the quotations, it will also generate bills of materials and works orders for ERP solutions. It has now created a direct integration with Epicor. This will enable the 1,600 Epicor customers in the fabricated metals and industrial machinery markets to leverage the solution and automation from the opportunity to production.

Using SecturaFAB it believes that operations managers can speed up the quoting and estimating process significantly. SecturaFAB can import PDF, 3D & 2D CAD files including DXF, DWG, STEP formats. Not only does the automated process speed up the training time to produce quotes by 80% it believes that it will also increase win rates by 40%, a bold claim.

SecturaFAB solution is a comprehensive solution. It will sync contacts from a CRM or ERP. When creating quotations, users can nest run times, welding costs, complex press brake operations and more. The quotation, including previously-stored geometry within the quote, will help generate a works order. It supports both 3 and 5-axis machining quotes, saving multiple machining and engineering hours. The integration with Kinetic also supports the extraction of materials data into SectureFAB.

Christine Hansen, director of product marketing, manufacturing at Epicor commented: “Epicor is dedicated to integrating features and solutions from best-of-breed partners such as SecturaSOFT into our product suite and are proud to provide customers with specialized capabilities that reduce time to market and speed up a return on investment. In our mission to help the companies that make, move, and sell the products that keep the world turning – this partnership is another step in our ongoing investment to provide deep industry expertise to essential businesses.”

Enterprise Times: What does this mean

Similar to the partnership with Sidekick for its automotive industry solution, Epicor is strengthening its products through technology partnerships. The agreement with SecturaSOFT will provide an industry-specific solution for fabricated metals. This is in addition to the recent acquisition of KBMax. SecturaFAB integration will be included as part of the full release of Epicor.
