Acquisitions slowed down with the exception of Oracle which acquired Sauce Video. There were more announcements around COVID-19 apps and Q1 results continued to impress, but several CEOs expressed concerns about the coming months. Similar to Lynn Moore, Tyler’s president and chief executive officer who commented: “We had a solid first quarter with a great deal of momentum going into the second half of March, when we began to see the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Acquisitions

Oracle announced the acquisition of Sauce Video, a video content creation and sourcing solution that allows companies to collaborate with their employees, customers, and fans to create digital video content. Oracle Content and Experience’s portfolio will benefit from this with advanced video capabilities. It will provide customers with a comprehensive set of content creation and management. Terms were not disclosed.

Appointments

Asite appointed Richard Harrison as Director of Customer Success – UK & Europe. He previously worked at Orchard Information Systems.

BambooHR has appointed Amy Frampton as Head of Marketing, she was previously VP of Product Marketing at Smartsheet.

Billtrust has appointed Jay Johnson as Senior Vice President of Sales. Johnson was previously SVP of Sales Americas at Syncsort.

IRIS has appointed Chris Smith as Chief Sales Officer. Smith was previously Vice President & General Manager EMEA at Harman International, a Samsung subsidiary.

Thomas Hansen is joining UiPath as Chief Revenue Officer. Hansen has previously held senior positions at VMWare and Microsoft.

Business

Ceridian completed its certification of Protected B (PBMM) Status for Cloud Services from Government of Canada for its Dayforce HCM solution. This will help it win business in the public sector within Canada.

Cyara became the top revenue-generating Expert App in 2019 on the Genesys AppFoundry with its Automated CX assurance platform. Jeff Flores, vice president of channels and alliances at Cyara commented: “As a Genesys AppFoundry partner, Cyara works closely with Genesys to help joint customers reduce time to value, maximize the return on their investment and build better customer experiences. Companies that choose Genesys and Cyara prioritize innovation and delivering great customer experience for their customers.”

Igloo Software is offering free access to its extensive online learning platform to all customers. The platform includes self-serve and instructor-led courses, resources, and videos to optimize their digital workplace and better support, remote teams.

Jitterbit has launched an enhanced partner program to help System Integrators and Consulting Partners to Develop and Market Solutions based on the Jitterbit API Integration Platform. The new program includes training, product support and help with their go-to-market strategy.

Kofax announced that it is to offer 90 days of complimentary support to for healthcare, emergency services and government sector customers during COVID-19. Existing customers can extend their contract by contacting Kofax.

Outsystems is opening up its internal educational portal to a wider audience of children. It will make it know its access known on Linkedin under the hashtag #AccessJuniors.

PwC, Cognite and Outsystems formed a partnership. In Norway, the manufacturer Aarbakke leveraged the new combination through the PwC Energy Experience Center. It leveraged Cognite Data Fusion (CDF), the industrially focused data operations platform, the OutSystems low-code development platform, and PwC‘s change management and digital expertise.

Phenom launched HelpOneBillion, it aims to provide a personalised job search for those who have lost their jobs during the pandemic.

Solarwinds published its Q1 2020 results. Total revenue grew 14.4% to $247 million. Net income was 0.4 million.

WellSky and Qlik have partnered to offer a complimentary COVID-19 tracking solution for home-based care providers. The WellSky-Qlik heat map will enable carers to track current outbreak hot spots, anticipate locations with increasing infection rates, and distribute valuable PPE resources based on locations where clinical staff need it most.

Signavio has integrated Signavio Process Manager to S/4HANA. This adds its process intelligence engine to help companies through digital transformation. It lessens the competitive advantage that Infor gained with its strategic partnership announced last year.

ServiceNow announced its Q1 2020 results. Subscription revenues of $995 million in Q1 2020, up 34% year over year. It now has 933 customers with more than $1 million ACV, adding 37 in the quarter.

Tyler Technologies reveals its Q1 2020 results. Total revenues were $276.5 million, up 11.9% year over year. Lynn Moore, Tyler’s president and chief executive officer commented: “We had a solid first quarter with a great deal of momentum going into the second half of March, when we began to see the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Workiva published its Q1 results, end 31st March 2020. Total revenue was $85.8 million, up 22.6% year over year. Profits were up and Workiva has $496 million in cash and equivalents at the end of the quarter.

Customer

Huntsman Corporation has implemented Apttus’ Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) solution to enhance its legal operations.

BlackLine reported that it added several customers during Q1 2020. In North America, these included Accruent, Aecom Management Services, Bank of Montreal, The Motley Fool, Pernod Ricard USA, Wabtec and The Walsh Group. In EMEA new customers included Borr Drilling Management, Inchcape Retail, Fuller, Smith & Turner and The Unite Group, and in ASIAPAC, Chubu Electric Power, Lion and Nippon Express.

Oshkosh Corporation has selected the Boomi integration platform to enable it to integrate applications. Don McCartney, Vice President of Enterprise Architecture and Simplification, Oshkosh, stated that: “The Boomi platform affords Oshkosh Corporation the opportunity to accelerate the delivery of our strategic initiatives and drive innovation excellence.”

CETEC announced that Advantage Line, a signage and display manufacturer in Sydney, Australia has self-implemented the cloud-based CETEC ERP. It migrated from several spreadsheets running operations and logistics to the solution with only a few calls to CETEC experts. Carol Dowden, General Manager commented: “We had been looking for a simple to use, fully integrated system that we could implement to coincide with a new project for one of our major clients. We looked at many different options, but Cetec ERP stood out as something that suited our needs, low cost, and straight forward for us to implement.”

Irish building consultancy has selected Deltek Vantagepoint to support its expansion. It selected the ERP solution to better manage its projects and resources.

The Coco-Cola company has announced a five year deal with Microsoft. It will standardize on the Microsoft Cloud including Microsoft Azure, Dynamics 365, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365. Barry Simpson, senior vice president and chief information and integrated services officer of The Coca-Cola Company commented: “At The Coca-Cola Company, innovation and growth are key pillars of our business. This partnership with Microsoft allows us to really step change our employee experience through replacing previously disparate and fragmented systems. These platforms allow us to deliver relevant, personalized experiences as we network our organization.”

Lucro Commercial Systems, a leading credit union services organization (CUSO) rolled out the OutSystems platform in under a week to improve its loan application process. It has already processed 4,000 PPP loan applications and funded $30 million worth of loans.

Worcester County Council leveraged the Outsystems low-code platform to roll out five new apps relating to the COVID-19 pandemic to support council operations. It also developed two other apps to directly support COVID-19 testing.

Qualtrics celebrated that 140 million actions were triggered for organizations from governments and academics across the world to leading brands like Belkin, BMW, and Chobani.

SAP published a roundup of the latest organisations to go live on SAP Ariba and SP Fieldglass. They included Carlsberg Group A/S, Vestas Wind Systems A/S, Furukawa Electric Co Ltd and Grundfos.

Unit4 will provide its ERP solution to Titania, Stockholms fastest growing real estate developer.

Workiva is to target companies reporting to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) with its market-leading compliance platform. Organisations such as electric utility, hydropower and pipeline companies can leverage the XBLR reporting within Workiva to meet the new FERC guidelines.

Product

Aprimo has added new features to its Agile Marketing solution. They include a new drag and drop workflow designer, a simple project manager and a work request portal.

CCH Tagetik Finance Transformation platform unveiled new planning apps to assist organisations during the pandemic. CCH Tagetik Smart NoOW consists of: Cash Flow Planning, Driver Based Planning, Risk Adjusted Planning, Workforce Planning, Capital Expenses Planning.

Freshworks has integrated Freshdesk with Slack. Prakash Ramamurthy, Chief Product Officer at Freshworks. “As Slack’s first-to-market customer support partner, we are uniquely positioned to help enterprises respond to inbound customer requests via the most popular channels-based messaging platform.”

HuRis Expense Manager us now available on SAP App Center. The solution integrates with SuccessFactors® Employee Central and provides organisations with more control over expense reporting processes.

Infor has released Infor FHIR Bridge 20.1. Part of the Infor Cloverleaf Integration Suite, it has added several improvements with this release.

More4Apps has launched – Procurement Module. The first component of the More4apps’ ERP Cloud Toolbox, it streamlines the process of creating, updating and cancelling purchase orders within Oracle ERP Cloud.

Pipeliner CRM release version 3.10 of Pipeliner CRM Cloud. It has added several enhancements to Automizer including webhooks, scheduled triggers, an action archive and an improved debugger. Other enhancements include the ability to send company emails and bulk operations o update data.

WillHire Direct Sourcing & Talent Pool Management Software application is integrated to SAP Fieldglass and is available on the SAP® App Center.

simPRO Mobile 5.3 was released. The update included an improved schedule view, WYSIWYG support and enhanced calendar format.

Xero now allows users to submit an expense claim that was paid with company money. It has also added a distance calculator. It has also improved its reports with settings available at the top of the report.

Research

iCIMS published its Class of 2020 report. It reveals that graduates in 2020 will apply for twice as many jobs than the previous year set, 20 versus 10. Its findings are revealing for both the job seekers and those looking to employe them. A key success criteria for employers is to use technology during recruitment processes.

Solarwinds published the SolarWinds IT Trends Report 2020. It looked at technology skill sets across bot IT Departments and non-technical areas.s  Findings included:

  • The top three technologies influencing organizations’ staffing needs (by weighted rank): Cloud computing (i.e., SaaS, IaaS, PaaS) (55%), Security and compliance (52%) and Hybrid IT (34%)
  • Only a collective 26% of respondents name emerging technologies—like artificial intelligence (AI), edge, microservices, and containers—as the biggest influence staffing needs.
