More acquisitions this including Saba by Cornerstone for $1.35 billion, the second major coming together in the HCM space after last weeks merger of Kronos and Ultimate. Results are still filtering out with Upland making steady progress towards the one billion revenue.

Acquisition

Veritas Capital has completed the acquisition of Campus Management and Edcentric from Leeds Quity partners. Terms were not disclosed.

Cornerstone is to acquire SABA. The deal will see the company acquire the learning management platform for $1.395 billion in cash and shares from Vector Capital. Adam Miller, CEO and founder of Cornerstone commented: “Saba and Cornerstone have always shared a passion for people development, and together we can accomplish great things. The additional depth of expertise and capability from Saba is an ideal complement to Cornerstone. Intuit is to acquire Credit Karma for $1.7 billion in cash. Credit Karma is a consumer finance technology platform with more than 100 million members in the U.S., Canada and U.K.

Freshworks has announced the acquisition of AnswerIQ, a provider of ML and AI for larger enterprises that want to better serve their customers. AnswerIQ CEO Pradeep Rathinam will join the senior executive team at Freshworks as chief customer officer,

Appointment

BlackLine has appointed Marc Huffman as President. Huffman will continue in his role as Chief Operating Officer and is likely to take a seat on the board, subject to a vote at the next board meeting.

Delphix has appointed Steve Chung as President Worldwide Field Operations. Chung was previously Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Customer Success, and Services for global SaaS company PagerDuty. He has also worked at companies including Morgan Stanley, StubHub, HP

SYSPRO has appointed Brian Rainboth as the General Manager for Canada. He was previously CEO at Paywith USA and had long stints at Sage and SAP.

Vena Solutions has appointed Allison Munro as Chief Marketing officer and Tina Goulbourne as Chief Operating Officer. Workfront has appointed David Burggraaf as Chief Technology Officer. He joins the company having spent 15 years in senior leadership positions at Instructure, FamilySearch, and Microsoft. Burggraaf was named 2018 CTO of the Year by the Utah Technology Council.

Cornerstone announced its Q4 and full year results. Revenue for Q4 grew by 8.2% to $149.6/Full year revenue was up 8.5% to $576.5, slightly above guidance.

ECI has announced a strategic relationship with LillyWorks Inc. it will see the LillyWorks  Protected Flow Manufacturing integrated to and available with Macola ERP.

Hasura has successfully completed a series A funding round led by Vertex Ventures. The San Francisco and Bangalore-based company provides data access and data flow tools and services via GraphQL APIs. Other participants include SAP.iO Fund, Nexus Venture Partners and Strive VC. SAP is to work with the start-up to enable support for SAP HANA as well as offer native GraphQL capabilities to the SAP Cloud Platform Integration Suite.

Intuit has announced a partnership with Karbon to deliver Intuit Practice Management powered by the Karbon technology. Navint and Jitterbit have partnered to bring a complete solution for companies looking to integration solutions to Salesforce CPQ engine. Qlik has extended its partnership with Databricks by joining its data ingestion network.

Upland continued its growth trajectory after announcing Q4 and full year results this week. It posted $66.1 million revenue for Q4, an increase of 46%. Full year revenues were up 49% to $222.6 million. Agiloft unveiled its February 2020 release and the Agiloft AI Engine. The latter introduces ExtractAI, ClassifyAI, and RiskAI tools that bring AI capabilities to the contract management platform. Conga unveiled the next generation of its end to end Digital Document Transformation Suite at its annual conference. Available on March 3rd it includes improvements across the platform.

Intraworlds Alumni Platform is now available in the SAP App centre. The solution integrates with SAP SuccessFactors and enables companies to keep in touch with their Alumni.

Pipeliner CRM Cloud v2.9.0 is now available. It has increased the maximum email attachment to 25MB and made it possible to delete emails. There are also improvements to the administration function and other bug fixes and minor improvements.

Planful revealed its Winter 20 release. This is the first since it rebranded from Host Analytics. It includes an Automatic Data Refresh feature that ensures users are working on up to date data when collaborating.

Pulseway has improved the UI of its mobile application. Features include new styles and fonts and a smoother workflow experience. It has also added a dark mode to its Android and iOS apps.

RapidMiner 9.6 is now available. The update to the data science platform includes the automated machine learning solution RapidMiner Go. JupyterHub is fully integrated within the platform and there is full integration to Grafana, an open source data visualisation tool. QAD has released a USMCA Benchmark Tool. It supports companies checking their readiness to comply with the rules of origin in the new United States – Mexico – Canada Agreement (USMCA). QAD Precision also provides Free Trade Agreement (FTA) software. This enables companies to determine FTA origin in real-time and within fractions of a second.

Scoro announced a new release to its business management solution. It delivers improvements to UI and UX as well as some feature improvements. These include the ability to create a bill from a quote, an improved Pipeline report and updates the Planner.

Research

Advanced published a Digital Natives Report looking at how companies are missing out on a lack of recruiting of Gen Z natives. 26% of Generation Z workers believe that their companies are not doing enough to attract the younger generation. Gordon Wilson, CEO at Advanced, commented: “Leaders must embrace the younger generation as a priority – and that means being open to change and a different way of doing things. What’s more, they mustn’t underestimate what this new generation can achieve or pigeonhole them into uninspiring roles. Rather, they need to create roles based on their skills, knowledge and talents.”

Sage has published a report entitled  ‘Discrete Manufacturing in a Changing World’. It found that 75% of UK firms are in the midst of transformation. 96% of British discrete manufacturing firms are impacted by green manufacturing trends, 66% of those are pursuing a servitisation strategy.

Xero has published the Boss Insights 2020 report. It analyses the Australian Bureau of Statistics data from 1991 to 2019 around small business in Australia. It shows Australia has increased professional services firms, but agricultural and retail business have declined in number. It also reveals that nearly two thirds of new business in the last decade were founded by women. Bernard Salt, demographer and Boss Insights report author, said: “What I have discovered from the study is the relentless energy and determination of the Australian people, in all parts of the continent, to build a business and to thrive. Not all businesses survive but there is no shortage of Australians putting their hand up in pursuit of what is perhaps the ultimate Australian dream — the quite ennobling ideal of being your own boss.”
