Showpad has continued to strengthen its leadership team. It has appointed Dustin Deno as VP North American Sales. Deno worked at Salesforce for six years and was previously SVP Sales at Maropost. In addition Showpad has promoted Hendrik Isebaert and Jim Preston SVP of Worldwide Revenue and VP EMEA Sales, respectively. It does not yet have a Chief Revenue Officer though. While Rita Jackson, hired in March 2019, is VP Product Marketing there is also no Chief Marketing Officer. Theresa O’Neil appears to have left the company as she no longer appears on the leadership team page as CMO (she was in September 2019), despite her LinkedIn profile not being updated.
Pieterjan Bouten, co-founder and CEO at Showpad said: “We are thrilled to welcome Dustin into the Showpad family, and to elevate Jim and Hendrik as leaders in our sales organisation. Each of them have a proven track record of success and driving growth in scaling organisations. But even more importantly, they embody our values and demonstrate the vision, leadership and energy to continue our momentum for years to come.”
These appointments come at a good time for the sales enablement platform as it looks to grow faster funded by a $70M Series D funding round it closed in 2019. Other recent appointments included Matt Miller as Chief Finance Officer and Helen Yu as Chief Customer Officer.
Enterprise Times: What does this mean
It is refreshing to see opportunities given to internal staff to grow with the organisation. Bouten seems to be combining fresh faces with corporate knowledge. This should help it to retain organisational culture but not stagnate. With the funding round recently closed though the new sales leadership team will have to demonstrate their capability to increase bookings as the companies searches for the expected revenue growth.
This is probably not the end of the changes. Showpad is expanding quickly. It currently has 35 open job positions across several countries and disciplines. While these include some leadership positions, CRO and CMO are not amongst them.
